Already posted this on the X-men forum but it might as well be posted here also. I already got the single issues of the SI arc and am getting the next two trades, which now will be the last two trades.
It's a cruel and unjust world when Hulk and Ultimatum set sales charts on fire, and a solid, extremely enjoyable book like Captain Britain dies an ignominious death.
I was hoping for Cornell to get a few more arcs in before the book received its inevitable marching orders.
On a related note of ironic injustice, I read the first two issues of Ultimatum in the store yesterday. Hooo boy, that ain't good. It's sort of impressive the way Loeb has managed to utterly undo all of Millar's great work on the Ultimates with Ultimates V3 and Ultimatum in such a short space of time. He's become the anti Alan Moore: one breathes life into old and tired concepts, making them fresh and new again, and the other kills vibrant ideas and characters stone dead with his instant creative halitosis.
Why the hell does Captain Britain get cancelled so soon when New Excalibur, which used some of the same characters, was allowed to ramble on semi-incoherently for almost two years
Two words: economic crisis. Fringe books are going to get far less slack, and potential ongoings will probably turn into mini/maxiseries. That sucks for Captain Britain though. Launching with event tie-ins is a risky proposition anyway because it gives you a false sense of the size of your audience.
I know I'll be adding it to my pull list next time I hit the comic shop. Who knows, maybe it'll still tank, but at least I'll have tried. For those who might be interested in the book due to upcoming solicitations with Dracula and Dr. Doom conspiring on the moon!, I encourage you to look over scans_daily's large collection of Pete Wisdom, and Captain Britain and MI 13 scans.
If you like what you see, maybe order Wisdom, which leads in heavily to Captain Britain, and then the first trade of Captain Britain and MI13, which should be available as of February 18th, if Marvel's website is correct.

This from this weeks DC Nation. Ten quotes and ten characters.
"1. "I know he's not dead and I will find him, even if I have to make a deal with the devil himself."
2. "I will stop them all, no matter who they are or what they meant to me."
3. "I will step down, I will step aside, but I will never stop."
4. "He took away what mattered most; I am broken, but that can never slow me down."
5. "He has replaced me, but he will never be me."
6. "I will watch them closely, stay vigilant, make sure they do not repeat the mistakes of the past."
7. "I have seen the future and I will do everything I can to change it. Starting with my death."
8. "I will make sure justice returns to Gotham and every criminal is behind bars."
9. "I need to make amends for all the damage I caused."
10. "I will be the greatest Batman ever!"
A. Diana Prince
B. Tim Drake
C. Roy Harper
D. Vic Stone
E. Jason Todd
F. John Stewart
G. Kate Spencer
H. Wally West
I. Michael Jon Carter
J. Clark Kent"
From the 20 questions with Didio he mentions Kate is going to Gotham so I figure G8. And 10 seems like a goofy thing to say so E10.

Thats all I got.
As much as I'd like it to be E10, E5 fits just as well (in reference to Tim?)
and from a marketing standpoint, what's something like this going to accomplish? judging by what this same type of thing has done in the past, I'd guess nothing

For me it means that DC is planning on staying with the dark tone after Final Crisis. *sigh*

really?
you don't think the quote about slowing down is wally?
This is perplexing. Reading the article informed me that Mr Schreck was behind a lot of really good things for a long time. Most recently he was the editor of the All Star "line."
The loss of Bob Schreck is particularly surprising, given the editor’s superlative standing in the industry. In the 1990s, Schreck nurtured some of Dark Horse’s most revered classics with “Sin City,” “Madman” and “Dark Horse Presents.” He later brought popular filmmaker Kevin Smith’s Jay & Silent Bob characters to comics at Oni Press, a venture he co-founded with Joe Nozemack before moving to DC to revitalize the company’s then-lackluster Batman line, recruiting Greg Rucka to write “Detective” and Frank Miller to create “The Dark Knight Strikes Again.” Schreck went on to edit “All Star Superman” and “All Star Batman and Robin, the Boy Wonder,” two of DC’s biggest successes in recent years.
Laying off this guy seems like a real bone-head dumbass move. They need to lay-off whatever idiot runs their marketing department.

I saw that too but it's probably just an error. He only just renewed his contract with Warner last year and I doubt they've been paying enough attention to DC that they'd fire him now.
If he is really gone though, I'd really hope they'd hire someone good (like Keith Giffen).

"WAIT SERIOUSLY? LUNARTIC? WHAT IS THAT EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN?"
I didn't know that. It's one of my favorite episodes too.
https://twitter.com/Hooraydiation
Indeed! The plot of the episode actually comes from an Eightth Doctor novel that he wrote and was subesquently asked to adapt it for television.
He's written a bunch of Doctor Who novels although I haven't read any. I've heard they're pretty good.
well that sucks

it seems a bit cliché, and what matters most to Wally is his family (and it doesn't look like they're going anywhere), so
