Tales from the clearance bin: Unreal Championship 2

So I just picked this old thing up today for $5 on a complete whim, and it turned out to be pretty good.

For those who weren't paying attention when this thing came out, what, two and a half years ago, the Unreal Championship series was Epic's attempt to bring UT to the Xbox, streamlining the gameplay and such. The first Unreal Championship apparently kinda sucked, but led to UT2003/UT2004 on the PC, so I can't get too mad about it. Unreal Championship 2 tried to break away from the UT series by adding in an actual storyline (campy, cliched crap) and combining melee combat with the series's usual gunfighting (which it does pretty well, actually). It's been on the 360 backwards compatability list for some time now, so when I saw it in the "get this shit out of our store" bin at Blockbuster, I decided to give it a try, seeing as it cost less than a rental would anyway.

Now, I don't have Live Gold, and I'm assuming that the online community probably wasn't that big for this game in the first place and is almost certainly dead now, but I definitely feel like the single-player campaign gave me my five dollars' worth.

Anyone else have anything to say about this game?
"Tales From The Clearance Bin" is much better than "Late To The Party", don't'cha think?

Atleast once a month I pull it out and try playing a few rounds of the single player. Always have a blast and wish I bought it when the game was new.

:crosses fingers: Maybe this will turn into a Let's Play.

I played the hell out of the demo for this that came with the Xbox magazine. There are few things as gratifying as reflecting a rocket back at the guy who fired it at you, and not only killing him but all the guys circling around and trying to melee him to death.

I wish Epic would make a current-gen game in this franchise. In fact, I would probably give both nuts to see this happen. Instead they're wasting time on UT 3, which doesn't have near the potential Unreal Championship 3 would have.

Also, if this turns into a Let's Play, I will be on the prowl for a copy.

I'd take Unreal Championship 3 over Unreal 3 any day.

    UC2 was just that good.

Though I have to say, in single-player some of the team-based events are difficult solely because your squadmate is semi-retarded for some reason.
