I am currently running a g5 PPC iMac with OS X on it. I would like to start to dabble in Linux. How would I partition my hard drive and run Linux on it? If possible I would like to run it over OS X. Also is there any helpful Linux sites for beginners?

Remember that OSX is based off of Unix. Pull up a terminal window and start learning commands. The foundation of learning Linux is the terminal (no way around it:)), and you can get an excellent feel for it by trying it on your OSX install.

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?

Yeah, I wouldn't install Linux for the sheer reason that Mac OS X is basically a pretty UNIX distribution (and it's certified UNIX, unlike GNU/Linux).

If you want Linux packages, get them from MacPorts.
