Also, don't forget strategy guides. You could have a character roster on day one if you just bought a guide with the game.
Which is what I suspect will happen.

Great footage. Thanks for the heads up man. For people coming in late, check out the first post on page 77 for some other footage of demo kiosks. Specifically lots of Dedede vs. Ike, some Kirby, Link, and Bowser.

I mean friendly games are good to, but without a competitive metagame 'friendly games' will only go so far.

More confirmation that DDD is awesome, but his final smash is very weak. It doesn't take up the whole stage, just a radius around him.
Also he bangs the smash ball with a few tilts and it still takes a few more hits to open, which I like.
In SSE you can both play the same character, which is nice for situations that call for 1 character like Kirby vs. Petey. You have two kirbys.
I've yet to see Ike's final smash not instantly kill someone but Mario ate PT's point blank and would have survived if he knew what he was doing.
EDIT: His method of selecting which pokemon you start with makes me afraid there really is no way to start as ZSS. If you look at Zelda's character select, Sheik is on it too so you could choose who you start with by just clicking on one like PT. ZSS isn't on Samus' character select icon. . .hopefully she gets unlocked and stuck onto there.
A pokemon battle is really a trainer demonstrating their skill to a pokemon. A pokemon won't be caught in a pokeball of an unworthy trainer. A pokemon needs a trainer to reach its full potential. Likewise a trainer learns more about themself over the course of their pokemon journey.
What about the Master Ball then
That's like the ultimate mind rape
Masterballs are extremely rare and only obtained by proving that you're a bad-ass or by luck. Both of these are extremely appealing to pokemon.
If you guys really want a pokemon universe thing to puzzle over, ponder the existence of Porygon.

Well, since Pokemon can get turned into data, it's not too far of a stretch for data to get turned into a Pokemon.
This is an all-time low.
I need to get a theme song for all of the characters I plan on using, to set videos of my conquests to. So far I've got
Olimar: They Might Be Giants- "The Cap'm"
Snake: Alice Cooper- "Snakebite"
Captain Falcon: The theme from Speed Racer. Alternatively, "Speed Racer" by DEVO.
The problem here is that if you used one song from They Might Be Giants, all the other songs need to be They Might Be Giants.
Snake - Spy
Lucas - Why must I be sad
Captain Falcon - AKA Driver
Wario - Take out the trash
Kirby - Particle Man
Shit you're right.
Thunderbird fits Captain Falcon better though, I think. Unless Falco's coming back that is. Your Own Worst Enemy might be better for Kirby, also.
Furthermore,
Bowser- Poison Flowers
Zelda/Sheik- S-E-X-X-Y
Pit- She's an Angel
Donkey Kong- I'm Impressed
Yoshi- New Haven/Albany
Jigglypuff- Am I Awake
Fox/Samus- Destination Moon
...
Dammit guys I'm all hyped for Brawl again is it March yet
This list is lacking in Pink, Lincoln and Apollo 18. Kids today.
isn't Poison Flowers a Monopuff song? If so, then don't we need to include Mayors and State Songs to be fair?

Samus- Space Suit
Ganondorf- Kiss Me, Son of God
And yeah Poison Flowers is Mono Puff. My definition of a "TMBG song" is pretty much just any song that one or more of the Johns made.

We're getting video of demo now, so more and more spoilery stuff is probably going to be unspoilered as we go on. Most of this specific thread is speculation though.
Ha, when King Dedede grabs a hammer item, he double-wields hammers. XD (In the Dedede vs. Pikachu on Halberd fight)
That fight is awesome, because unlike the Japanese people who only play Smashville, somebody FINALLY activates Dedede's final smash.
And "hup hup hey ho!" definitely fits.
He uses it several times in the smashville vids too. The one vs. Bowser is a pretty cool show of it because he uses it twice and Bowser nearly survives being hit by both of them.
As I was watching this video, I noticed that there was a secret passage and it made me think, this isn't just SSB side-scroller, this was practically an entire Platformer unto itself.

Seeing as ZSS doesn't have a final smash (she just gets her suit back...lame) I highly doubt you're going to be able to pick her as though she was a separate character.
Personally I think ZSS's final smash should have been Crystal Flash, she could have gotten her suit back + all her health and set off a super bomb that would do more damage to closer enemies, and have a huge blast radius.
I have a feeling this whole situation is just more "Japan doesn't care about Metroid."

It seemed pretty obvious to me that her FS was based on Crystal Flash. Also the move you describe is overpowered even for an FS.

That for some reason you want the other extreme.
Also I seem to remember people saying that it dealt quite a bit of damage if you were in contact with someone while shiny.

As mentioned, she does have an FS. It KOs you if you're anywhere close or at least does a ton of damage people were saying.
Come to think of it, I think I've seen Zelda's character select as both just Zelda and Zelda and Shiek together so maybe selectable transformations does happen to be an unlockable thing. I could see something as simple as "use the smash ball once as Samus" or beating her part in SSE or something. I just can't see an entire character with a unique moveset being that restricted.

MY guess is probably no more than 10 or so hours depending on difficulty.
Which is fine by me, I dont think a silent hill game lasted more than 15 and those were about perfect legth.
