I'm betting he asks for Caps shield back, since the new issue comes out next week(?) and there's a new Cap.

I think my soul cried a bit when he gave him the shield the first time.

I'd love it if Colbert goes "Ahhh, but I made a deal with the Devil, and you don't remember ever giving me the shield in the first place. It's like a Brand New Day for you!"

It's magic. Colbert doesn't have to explain it.

Colbert should beat Joey Q to the floor with the shield while sobbing "Why!?"

I dunno, without his writing staff, how likely is it that anyone has told him about OMD?

Colbert's a pretty damn huge nerd himself.

He won a bet with Viggo Mortenson when he was on the Daily Show by reciting Aragorn's family tree from memory.

Yeah, but that was when he had a writing staff. I'm not saying the guy isn't a nerd, but he's also a busy nerd... a very, very busy nerd.

I'm guessing Q will ask for the shield back, hopefully there will be a jab like, "you won't ruin cap like you ruined spider man will you?"

Well, it's either that or BND. Explaining shape-shifting aliens seems the easier task of the two.

The run for president thing is neat. Was that just BS, or are they actually doing that?

Anyone seen any easter eggs in anything hinting at that?

I'd seriously buy a stupid amount (in addition to the current stupid amount ) of Marvel comics if Colbert became the Prez. I can't imagine it really happening but even if it was brought once as a gag I'd love it.

They just shopped a pic from BND showing a Colbert '08 billboard in the background, and then displayed it on the show, so it was just a throwaway gag for Joe Q's interview. Nothing more.

I like the idea of him winning just because maybe in Marvel, Colbert isn't an actor but rather an outright person. Given the culture that predominates in Marvel's USA (i.e. pro-reg, constant military attacks on American soil, etc.) it'd be entirely reasonable for a person like the character Colbert to be elected.

I've tried searching and came up with nothing, but I seem to remember a few months ago there was a list of Marvel Universe happenings that we could expect in 2008 and a new President was one of them. I also remember a lot of people thinking that Marvel would have Tony Stark run for President and win. So maybe, just maybe this may actually happen.

Or maybe I'm just imagining things.

I just want him to put the New Warriors on notice.

Especially since comic fans are mostly universally positive about Secret Invasion, and mostly universally NEGATIVE about BND.

Observing Joe in action like that... doesn't increase my opinion of him. At all. He has that "greasy used-car salesman" vibe going on something fierce.

Sadly I love the idea of Colbert running for prez in the MU.

I wanna know where that Skrull image they used came from since it looked like a prosthetic mask they'd use in a movie. That'd be a neat thing for the FF3 movie. Thanks to Tivo I can watch and re-watch...if it was really worth re-watching other than Colbert's reaction when the Skrull became Obama.
