For future reference: Everything I do is poor sportsmanship.
Psychic: How did you like that crit nade i shot at you IN MID-AIR while you were double-jumping as scout, on granary? I couldn't believe i arced it right, until i double looked back and saw you in mid-air explode while hearing the infamous "DING!"
Take a quick moment to read a small summary of my last phone call at work:
My job sometimes makes me want to shut off their services, come to their house, slash their tires and slap their child in the fuckin mouth.
This kid picks up the phone and goes, "Who this be?"
Who the fuck teaches their child to pick up the phone and say anything less than, "Hello?"
After asking him to put his parents on "please" he continues to sigh and says, "Here mommy."
Right there, I know i'm in deep dog doo-doo when you hear this bitch start to complain like she's getting her leg sawed off. "Yes, who is this?" she says.
"Ughh yes, this is Jon from Comast cable, how are you doing?" No response. "ughh ok well i'm sorry for the disturbance (10:15am) but we're just checking to see if you recieved the notice in the mail about the old phone service discontinuing? We're currently in the area, and we're also doing the installation for free and dropping the monthy pricing."
She pauses and takes a deep breath, about to unleash the fury within her dark pathetic soul.
"YNOW WHAT! You guys were charging installation fees before, and now you're not? Wow great, ynow what, ynow what, comcast fucking sucks. But I don't have to tell you that, because you work there, you'd know. Also, I'm not ready to make a decision if i want to stay with you guys, and you're jacking up the prices (i just said it was going lower). You guys are a real piece of work, and i hope you know you guys are awful. Goodbye and don't call again."

O_o ... ...
I think what most people forget when they get phone calls from a company, or from telemarketers (not that I'm implying that the two are equal) is that the voice on the other end of the line belongs to an actual human being. You can disagree or not like what they're talking about, but that doesn't mean that you should take out your anger/wrath on them, because they just plain don't deserve it. They're doing their job, just like everyone else does theirs. Its sad that more people don't realize this.
This is incorrect. Having worked in call centers, I can assure you that 90% of the "people" that work Customer Service or Telemarketing are soulless, brainless sub-humans, and the only job they can get is one where they are required to do nothing more than read a script, and they still fail at that majority of the time.
There are a few decent people out there, but most of the good ones eventually either burn out in the environment of abuse and quit, or move up and out of the Call Center.

Yes I work for a "call center" but i'm in no way, a tele-marketer. I've worked that job before, and I know, it's not pretty. The job that Comcast has me do, is call up existing customers, and migrate them to our more recent and advanced services free of charge, while it costs them less. This creates revenue for the company, and generally makes the customers happier by lowering their monthly bills and giving them more/better services.
Tele-marketers call random people for random things, and don't listen to "no".
There's really no reason why I should be getting insulted by people that already are customers by us. I mean I could be calling them to tell them they are getting free services from us for 10 years, or i'm disconnecting their asses for not paying.
Most of the people working the floor right now, are very nice and very intelligent people. I read no script, nor do I try to sell people.
The one that killed me was the crit shot in the back from across the entire yard of well when you were spy.
HAHA! oh yea dude! i remember i was fighting for my life and just as you were about to run around the corner, everything went in slo-mo "blur" vision, and my voice turned into rambo. "EERR AAAa NNOOOOOOOO!!!!!" *CRIT last bullet in the chamber. I was astonished.

What's great is freaking people out, thinking you have an uber, and you're only at 90%.
The point of the Engineer class has been, from the very start, "area denial". That's how it was listed in the original character trailer and I haven't heard anything different out of the dev team from that point forward. Since that's the case, it would be in an Engineer's best interest to find the most useful areas to deny. This might not necessary be the area that the intelligence itself is sitting in, since, as Asiina pointed out, the intelligence room on ctf_well is wide open and has many entrances. If you can find a point on the map where enemies have to pass through either to get in to the intel or to get out, that would be the best place to keep your sentry encampment(s). For instance, if you were to place a sentry behind the wall where the second point would be in the cp_well variation, it could cover the two lower entrances to the intel room. I believe there's a small room you have to pass through no matter what upper route you're taking as well, so that would be a good place to stick a second encampment. I believe that covers just about any way into the intel room with just two Engineers.
Please take my analysis with a grain of salt, as I have yet to play ctf_well. Still, I think the principle applies: once they're in the intel room, they're going to pick it up. As an Engineer, your job it to make it difficult for them to get there, or to limit their available escape routes once they have it.

My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
I think ctf_well will get a lot better when people decide to go out there and fight instead of all holing up in their bases and sending two or three people over unnoticed. In both my games there we either had a lone Scout prancing about the base or two enemy Engineers setting up a sentry nest (which, granted, is sort of impressive).
A lot of people do think so, though. On some maps, like granary or well, I've seen people play engineer on offense and focus almost entirely on their ports and dispensers, using level 1 sentries as little more than an annoyance to the other team. And you know what? It helps a lot. EDIT: And once your ports are up and you've got a dispenser to keep your heavies happy, you also have that shiny shotgun as well...go kill some dudes the old fashioned way.
And I think a lot of what you're complaining about in ctf_well is that in this map (gasp) the intel gets captured. If they destroy or go around your sentry, you need to use the little display with the arrow (or talk to each other) to figure out where they are and how they're going and go kill them yourselves. And if you fail (because yes, this is harder than it sounds) then they capture your intel. They may even manage to do this three times before you do the same, and win the game.
Sometimes I think you just actually enjoy stalemates. EDIT: Or at least that you'd prefer a constant stream of stalemates to actually losing a couple rounds.
I love playing offensive engineer. Teleports are probably the most important thing on ctf_well.
if anything, defensive engineers are going to be bored as fuck

I know I was. When the map was nearing its end, I said to myself, "bugger this for a lark" and promptly went engie, built a sentry on the second floor overlooking one of the tunnel entrances to the intel, and played some DS.
I think the map after was Gravelpit, though. Good times were had on that map.
So playing ctf_well gave me an idea: what about a ctf/cp hybrid game mode? The main objective would still be capturing the intel, but there are control points that you can cap to get forward spawns and maybe spawn timer advantages. I haven't give this a lot of thought, but it seems it like it could work. It would also solve some of the problems of teams turtling up and forcing a stalemate.

Sure no probs. Of course you have to pass the three trials of fire, ice and water but thats just a formality. We'll just need your home address, weight and any severe allergies and we'll get the initiation done within one business day.

Oh, them darn kids and their newfangled methods of interaction! Why, in MY day, we needed to walk to our friends' houses to play video games! And it was 5 feet deep in the snow for 10 miles uphill both ways! Kids these days and their steamID invites, and their chatgroups, and their Web2.0, and their Internet connections, and their horseless carriages... :P

Afraid not - my computer's not good enough to run the game on its highest settings.
If you know a way to get it higher-res despite that, feel free to tell me and I'll do what I can.
