So I was playing on Yaaargh last night, and I think a few PA players were on there, I saw rakuen at least. Up until that point, I though I was at least fairly good at this, I get to the top 1 or 2 places on Pubs like 80% of the time.
But Goddamn. I couldn't break out of the middle table on the side that was getting stomped last night, and the I think I got on to the other sides ship less then 10 times. It was quite sad. Of course, as soon as the map reset and you all vanished I was doing pretty well again.
Also, rakuen, I don't mind playing against you as a spy, I don't mind playing against you as a sniper. But fucking hell, I have never hated something as much as you as a demoman, I couldn't touch you. I don't think I've died more in the 5 minutes you were playing demo ever.
Haha thanks i've been practicing for quite some time now. The encouragement helps man, thanks.
Also: shf! (and anyone who is interested) should coordinate when we're getting drunk/high. It'll be "Philosophy 101" brought to you by enders and the shf crew.

last night scrim time..I think we scrimmed anyway.
Playing on that wireplay server has made me realise how goddamn awesome I am with 15 ping.
Yeah. Anyone who says ping doesn't make a difference is a filthy liar. Sure helps with sniping...
Incidentally, don't you just love it when people go sniper on fuck-around maps so they can dominate everyone?
Yeah, you've got 140 points on Mario Kart/Cannonfest/Fightpit. Wow, just imagine how high you could've scored if the rest of the server wasn't having heavy jousting sessions on the karts or, you know, going melee.
Best part is when they have the audacity to complain if you return the favour. Why complain? I'm playing this serious tactical map properly now, you opened my eyes!

I've come to the conclusion that sniping is easier with a higher ping. I seem to be "on" the best if the server is ~150. May just be me, since the lowest ping I get to any server is a fucking sweet 75 or so.

Yeah, I posted that a little earlier, too. I hated snipers on MARIO_KART. Demoman was fun as hell, though. I kept getting owned as Spy, though.
Stickyjumping up to the top of the big middle building raining death on everyone can only be described as "good times".

All I know is that seven people alternating ubers on Enders works surprisingly well.

I'm very inconsistent as a sniper: but I always have trouble if I'm trying to take down someone whose ping is markedly better or worse than mine
Mind you I once had a game where I was awarded headshots for hits to the shoulder and even the upper-chest, so I guess once in a while lag makes you lucky.
Last night on that Yaaargh map, Rakuen kept freaking me out. No matter where I went, he was there, knife in hand. At one point, I walked out of the spawn, did a full 360 to see if anyone was there, startedrunning to the other boat, but within a few steps *KACHEW* "You have been killed again by the late Rakuen- Callisto"(sp?)
I hereby nominate ccp_circlejerk to be added to honk for further testing. It's a c(ircular)cp map that has to be captured in a clockwise, or counterclockwise motion.
At first glance (and I hate to bring this up) it appears similar to science, but without a center control point.
The RED and BLU teams start on opposite side of a circle, with no way to get directly to each other without going to one of the neutral points first. Depending if you go clockwise or counterclockwise from your starting point to the next point determins if you are capturing or defending the point. As you make your way around the (circle) map, your spawn moves with you, similar to well or granary.
The map has some nice defense choke points like cap 3 of dustbowl, semi-congested battle areas like the center cap of well, and it has outdoor layouts like in grainary or hydro.
I have to come out of retirement to comment on custom maps. Some are poorly made, yes, but Warpath (based on a valve map of course), science, impact, and turbine are all excellent. Very well balanced and fun to play. They might not always look cool (warpath and turbine don't) but the purpose is the gameplay, and frankly I'd take any of those maps over any of the originals in organized play--especially cp_well, which is the sorriest excuse for a map. Granary also plays pretty poorly. Both are too heavily biased towards the center fight that opens the round. If you lose it, 90% of the time you're going to lose the round.
2fort played with TFC rules (30 minute rounds, most caps wins) is good, though, conforming to my beta-era hunch that the "three cap rounds" were a terrible idea.
Oh, and also, the best TFC maps were Run!, shutdown2, pitfall, scrummage, mulch_trench, oppose2k1, and monkey_l. With the exception of oppose2k1, all of these looked like boiled ass.

hahaha i was doing this to pandas also. he was getting so pissed. what i would do, is wait till people looked around them a couple time, then come around the corner starting to uncloak, then do a 180 and pretended like i was coming out of spawn again.
panda was getting SOOO mad like "DUDE are you always behind me just coming for me?" haha classic. i love spy.
Edit: Oh yea, i'm heading into that yaaargh server again, so everyone feel free to follow. I officially request ctf_yaaargh to be added to PMAvers server. That is, if he agrees to the awesomeness.

I liked the Freelance Badass idea so much, I stole it and made that my tag.
Also, the mappack.zip download is horrendously slow
I like to play a couple of the orange maps if I'm in the mood to snipe. Lazytown is another map I wouldn't mind seeing played sometimes.
I played yaaaaaaarg again for the second time since I stumbled on it a while ago. I've been hating the thought of it played here, but I guess the server I was on had some weird plugins. The one I played on before would make your screen warp and do other acid like things, along with sometimes reduced gravity and such. The standard version could be fun, but the other is like playing mariocart. It's ok for the first 15 minutes, then it gets old quick.

I played this game for the first time at a friend's house yesterday. It is clear my life is going nowhere without this game. I would like to know if my computer can run the game. Preferably run it well. I've already seen the game specs so I'm hoping but I'm way out of the loop in terms of parts vs. performance so I'm not a good judge.
I'm running it on a 1.4 or so Ghz Athlon XP, 512MB of RAM and a Radeon 9500 Non-pro. My fps isn't that great (around 20 mostly) but its playable. So yours should run it well enough to be playable.

It looks like the scout just did a home run on Mannys face, and the scout was Sueve, by the way.

Genius.
That scrim was pretty awesome, we must keep this going
As for allegations of my highness, I deny them and refute that those are completely normal topics of conversation during TF2 sessions

What's the thoughts on "Orange" Custom Maps? I really like how simplified they are, so would it be cool to put one on the Pmaver's server?

Would you want to play with it? Probably not, unless you have everything set as low as it can go. And then it may be iffy.
