Recommendations for a co-op game my son and I can play over the internet
Does anyone have ideas for a PC, Xbox, PS2, or Wii game that my six-year-old and I can play over the internet? He spends most of the week with his mother 90 miles away and I think it would be a good way for us to have some fun together when he's not around. We like to play Lego Star Wars Co-op together when he's around, but they don't have an Xbox 360 at his mother's house so we can't play it.
Do the other PC versions of LSW support online co-op? I would prefer not to have to buy him an Xbox Live Gold/G4W Gold membership in order to play. Any other game recommendations?
Thanks!

Starcraft? I would suggest an MMO but he's only 6. With starcraft you can make that you two are the only ones in the game.
Wii? Your kid into soccer? Mario Strikers? Maybe?
Oh, oh!!! Pokemon Battle revolution! Of course, to get the full use out of it, you'll need a couple of DSes, a copy of Diamond and Pearl and some free time...

There's not a lot of online co-op on the PS2. There's champions of norrath, a hack and slash.
The PC is going to be your best bet. There's a lot of good free and cheap stuff. I'd reccomend x-men legends 2.
When I was that age my dad taught me how to play chess and it took me something like 10 years to ever beat him. He said if i won he would buy me an air rifle. Made me always want to win and taught me a whole lot about chess.
I like Limp Moose's chess idea... I wish my Dad were that into chess when I was a kid. I *LOVE* the game now, but I think I wouldn't suck as much at it if I'd been playing since a young age.
Neverwinter Nights (for the PC) might be fun if you're both into RPGs.

On any system, it's one of the best co-op games there is.
