You know what makes this such a joke? God of War as exposed tits, an interactive sex scene and is jam packed with gratuitous violence, including the killing of innocent people, but I don't remember FOX attacking that game. Nope, instead they go after the rather tastefully-done game.
Seriously. God of War IS exactly the type of game these people just love sinking their teeth into, AND it's massively popular. You're pretty much rewarded at every turn for acting completely immorally - in fact, the game REQUIRES YOU TO (something which isn't even true of Grand Theft Auto).
I can only think of one moment in the entire game where Kratos isn't killing someone, attempting to kill someone, or preparing to kill someone:
When he chases after the women in Athens, and she falls off the balcony and dies. Then he takes her key. So, even if he didn't intend to harm her, he ended up doing it anyway.

The only moments in either of the two games when Kratos isn't actively engaged in something's brutal and gratuitous murder is when he's having threesomes with bare-tittied, pornstar-bodied chicks.
Why are you defending EA when all Fox News has done was report something good that will help parents keep their children away from this filth?
Whatever happened to good conservative values? This new America we live in is disgusting and so are all of you faggots and your limp-wristed liberal agendas. Well they were all like that back then. So it's historically accurate!

The only reason western civilization even survived is because all the brutal slaughtering was counter-balanced by all the unprotected group sex.
Today, it is estimated that approximately 62% of the world's population is a descendant of Kratos.

EA is completely correct, for once. This was one of the more sickening bits of game journalism I've seen in a while and a total insult to all those people who put years of their lives into that great game.
As for those idiots on the FOX News panel, and that one woman who learned everything she needed to know from a University of Maryland study, all of whom seemed so repulsed by possibly having THEIR children see half a digital boob...
I say we place their children, at birth, in lead-lined isolation bubbles till they're 18. That way they'll never have to worry about them hearing a bad word, taking drugs, having teen sex or living in the real world at all.
Then, when they're 18, we'll toss them naked, emaciated and shivering into the middle of the Red Light district in Thailand and let normal kids watch everything that happens from that point on, at 8pm. On FOX.
It'll be hilarious.

I read that Fox News invited EA to send someone to appear on the air to defend themselves. Which isn't what EA wanted a chance for. They asked Fox to apologize for being wrong, wrong, wrong.
I hope EA declines because they'll be on Fox's turf, where Fox will spin it. Hell, just by appearing on the air it'd be spun, because Fox won't have to admit to being wrong, they'll simply have to say someone is saying they're wrong.
Surely Amsterdam makes more sense, for drugs as well.
As far as Fox News is concerned, I'm sure Amsterdam is worse than Thailand. After all, according to them, us Dutch people are all a bunch of non-religious evil polygamist stoners that regularly practice infanticide.
I'm not particularly surprised by what they've said about Mass Effect. Although it baffles me that you have something calling itself "news" when all it does is spout propaganda and whatever the hell they feel like.
Fighting it is probably useless too. Anything you'll say will just get spun into something else entirely (as Henroid said). And those things like the Amazon review attack just makes us gamers look bad.
I wish I had made a list of the radio show's sponsors last night, like Gabe did back during the DJ conflict. The only ones I know of are the ones on the website www.christenbury.com and www.fitnesstogethercharlotte.com. I don't know if this really warrants contacting her advertisers, but it might help her understand that there are consequences to misspeaking on topics like this.
You know they did use some pretty good looking shots of the game though. It made me want to go back and play it some more.
Game footage which they stole from IGN. They illegally took the video footage from the IGN video reviews and cropped out the IGN watermark.
Hillary rants about having FOX steal his "Queenie Shepard" for a bit on the new TRL podcast.
IGN is owned by News Corporation. There was nothing illegal about it.
Complete and utter BS. IGN is owned by newscorp as is Fox News, But they are autonomous businesses and it is still illegal for Fox News to utilize their assets without negotiating for permission. The only thing that newscorp owning both of them effects is that it makes it futile for IGN to really seek any legal recourse despite Fox having broken the law.
As Hillary mentions in the podcast this shows a few things: First it shows even more how little fox news understands about video games and specifically Mass Effect. If they new anything about the game they would have known that the characters can be specifically created for uniqueness, and that taking this game footage from a well known website would be recognizable in about a second.
Second, Fox knew it was wrong. If it were legal for Fox to take the footage because they were both owned by Newscorp why did they crop out the IGN watermark? they could have just said "here is some footage from our sister-whatever gaming site IGN". Instead they combined their sleaziness with thier complete ignorance on the topic and tried to steal the footage thinking nobody would be the wiser.

How do you know they didnt?
Well using my super human powers of deductive reasoning I posit that if they had negotiated for permission they most likely wouldn't have cropped out the watermark and generally in those types of negotiations it would be required that Fox News make some on air concession regarding where the footage came from.
Oh yeah, also the IGN Three Red Lights podcast spends a good 10 minutes talking about how Fox News stole the footage.

yeah... but how do you really know?
I stole a smidge of Veritas serum from Snape's dungeon and used it on Papa Bear Bill O'reilly at which point he described how he personally broke into the IGN offices and absconded with the aforementioned footage. He also admitted to sexually harassing 3 women and one homeless man on the way home.

Bill O'Reilly + Veritas serum + live broadcast is probably the only thing that would convince me to turn on Faux News - ask him the right questions and that would be ten times as newsworthy as their usual programming.
I think my favorite thing about Fox News is that they just make some outrageous claim (that is usually a really terrible pun), and then just put a question mark after it like that makes it okay.

The thing is, EA has to realize at this point that Fox News is making sales for them. Everyone knows Fox News is sensationalist bull, and a cried "boo hoo" from them is either going to make EA look good, or divert consumers to their product.
The more they can keep up the exchanges, the more attention they get. It'll blow over when (blond celebrity here) pulls another (embarrassing stunt here) next week.

"It has full on sex and nudity, explicitly describes sexual situations, and is the posterchild of what is wrong with books today. Of course I never read a single page of this book, but that shouldn't matter," read one review.
FOX steals footage all the time. Hell, when they were covering the Columbia shuttle disaster, they stole CNN's live feed by putting a mask over the bottom part of the screen, where CNN's logo was. CNN responded by putting "CNN" up in the top corner, where it also appeared on FOX. Then they cut to one of their anchors, and the people stealing the feed over at FOX didn't react fast enough, so their feed also went to the CNN anchor.
They have not apologized for that ever since it happened five years ago, so I suspect that an apology/correction for this is probably going to be a long shot.
