I have friends who have gotten 4 pieces of S1 gear in one week farming BGs. After the 2nd week, they were decked out in Vindicator and S1 gear. So it took them 2.5 weeks to get their alt into full epics.
That made me wince a little. I have had an AV weekend splurge where I farmed about 14k in one day, but that took all day and got really, really boring. Can't think of what it would be like to farm at least 60k honor in one week.
I keep hearing about people being able to deck out alts in S1 epics. I don't see how people do it. I know more than likely it is just me, I hate PvP. As an alliance char on bloodhoof, more often than not I get criticized by my peers for completing pvp objectives. I've been called a noob more than once for capping flags and defending points, because it is easier and quicker to lose and get 1 mark.
I know I'm terrible at pvp, and more than likely it has some to do with my spec and gear. I just never seem to have fun in pvp anymore. Why should I sit through something I hate, just to be ridiculed by my fellow alliance, to get better gear for the thing I hate doing?
People... ridicule you for... playing the game? What in the fuck ? Sounds like one wonky battlegroup.

You have no idea. Since the anti-afk push, I have seen people running around with no weapons, or armor, getting mobed by the other side. Just because they want the tokens. I don't see how they can have enough honor to even use the tokens. I keep toying with the idea of rolling horde in the same battle group to demolish these jack asses, I just can't bring myself to start all over again.

Once upon a time, BG's used to be fun. But running them now... I imagine it's how I'd feel if I still ran MC every damn week. The only thing I even enjoy anymore is world PvP, so I guess I'm lucky to be on a server where Halaa is fairly active. And really, why is it that 15 people that randomly happened to be in Nagrand when I was bored and decided to start bombing can work together better than 15 people that purposley queued for AB?
My old school QQ: Can they add a Flight Path between WPL and EPL already? This WPL -> Hillsbrad -> Hinterlands -> EPL thing is getting old. I mean, if they'd just make it so you could have a non-stop flight maybe it wouldn't be so annoying...

Er unless i'm misreading you can fly anywhere nonstop just click on the destination and it will auto fly through the routes changing at each one. Its been like since since before BC.

Well alliance get one, but they don't have a capital city right next to the Western Plaguelands.

I think what he meant is that it goes directly there, making the total FP about 60 seconds instead of 3 minutes. By having the 2 extra stops in there it just makes it take longer.
Does flying to EPL from UC take you through Hillsbrad and Hinterlands? If so it probably matches the length of time it takes alliance to fly directly from IF to EPL.
I don't see why they can't just optimise the flightpaths, why should flying to astranaar from the south mean flying through it to auberdine to turn 180 and fly back to it?
Most FP's should be direct, though this wouldn't be neccessary on all of them (flying to Tanaris going via the town in 1KN is fine, as is going to ratchet via the crossroads too).
Because that would take effort to reduce a timesink that people are tolerating, while adding a new FP once a year gives them a chance to say, "hey, we improved travel by adding a FP in the middle of bumblefuck" for relatively little effort.
I did notice a change of pathing from HH to Shattrah, which previously flew through telredor (or w/e). It can't be that hard to make direct flights.

I think they've re-pathed the Theramore to Auberdine trip, but the worst offender used to be Theramore to Stonetalon via Auberdine. The Theramore-Auberdine path took you directly over the Stonetalon Peak Flight Master, it made me so angry when I would fly an alt out there to level up.
Also, Echo, your resto druid needs to wake up, I lost count of the number of arcane orbs that I saw detonate directly on top of him in that video.

pack mentality helps
assign clock locations (your group number x2 with north being 12 oclock) and have your teams move as packs of 4-5 peopel all at once... prevents you all from getting so spread out and you have a much faster burn down phase
btw, last week we were running apps through TK... voidreaver... hunter gets ORB ON ME! and feigns death

I say we just go back to arguing about things they've phased out.
Man this rank system sucks. I have to sit in BGs all day just to get 10% towards my next rank! Go to hell Blizzard! Those raiders have it so easy, I've played a druid in MC and I just hit 1 button and that's my whole job for Luci and then like free purples.
So, last night, I'm finishing up the couple of quests I have left in Nagrand for quick cash. One of them is the one wherein you use the goblin's jump platform thingy, land in a tree, break an egg, and fight a giant bird. Attempt 1, I died. Attempt 2, shit I forgot to wait for my cooldowns.. Vanish and wait. Attempt three... Aw, a 66 alliance huntard is trying it, how cute. I'll just hang back and watch... Bird at 50%, hunter feigns death. The bird lost aggro... Hasn't regained health yet... CHEAP SHOT! Bam, bam, bam. Dead.
Now the hunter is emoting me. /cry /plead /beg. So I decide "eff it" and hang out. I wait for him to summon the bird again, he tags it, gains aggro, and then I help him kill it.

Yes, I'm a carebear.
No, you're a nice person. This is a good thing.
If it was a PVP server, I would probably have killed him after helping with the birdie.
I was in netherweb ridge, killing spiders for a grind quest. The was a horde rogue there as well, and we split the place in half so we could get our quests done without hindering each other. That was cool.
We then finished up around the same time, turned it in at the same time, and got the quest to kill terrokarantula. I rode over there, and he was there right after. I signaled for him to go ahead. After he tagged it and the mob was greyed out to me, I helped him kill it. Then, he waited for the respawn and helped me kill it. We turned in the quest, thanked eachother, had a small dance party, and then went our separate ways.
I'll just use my mage as an example: My typical rotation, as max range, scorch until within fireblast range then fireblast. If target =/= dead, frost nova, run back a bit and repeat. If target is still not dead, repeat from the frost nova step.
Be sure to use rank 1 frost nova ALWAYS. You stupids who buy higher than rank 1 don't deserve mana.
I certainly drank less as a frost mage when levelling. I don't know about at 70.
Leveling up, sure it's a bit cheaper with the 15% frost reduction talent. Fire gets 6% flat reduction from talents and 30% off all crits, which is much more noticeable at 70 when you actually have crit.
This is true. Depending on the type of fire build you might not even have to drink at all!
In PvP I certainly don't. It's evocate and mana gems and if I'm OOM I'm dead anyway. PvE farming wise I kill things in 1-2 fireballs so I don't have to drink for quite a while. Either that or it's nova, flamestrike, blastwave, AEAEAEAE for AoE pulls where you always have to drink at the end anyway.
btw, there is a LARGE hunter/druid bracket in the 1800s on my battlegroup now
after grinding through all the warrior/paladin teams i wasnt expecting that
viper sting + snake trap + pet that wont die = 5 minute games that come down to 50/50 chance of pissing me off
dunno when hunter/druid got so strong, but its annoying
Druid/Hunter was ok, and with the hunter changes in 2.3 the team got very buff.
However, it hasn't been popular because there wasn't a strong representative, nowadays you can throw around the current lead strategists for hunter/druid (MegaTF, Therst, and the Druid Chandelreeve I think, something like that)
hunter/druid is a nightmare for warrior/druid. I'm talking 10 minute fights. 2v2 bracket is so not fun right now past 1850.
Just 10?
My druid still needs some gear, so right now the fights are more or less luck based (Does my druid get unlucky crit to death Y/N?), but both teams make it so obnoxious for the other

My wife is in her 40s with her mage, it is one of her favorite alts because of the portals.
my pet has 275 resistance and even if you hit the 18% chance of landing your banish will be whispering in your ear in less than 4 seconds

I love when stuff like that happens.
Fire it up, fire it up!
And then drink for 15 minutes or so :P
Archaic Magery misconception #1. Fire doesn't drink any more than frost does.
