Okay, I work for one of the big box stores, and am pretty high up the later.
Now today when I was doing some research on the wii console, the description in our system had changed, from:
"Wii Console with Jacket"
To:
"Wii Console white with Jacket"
Same exact console, just a different description.
Now back when the 20 gig was being discontinued, I called it almost two weeks before it was 'announced' based on our system status, so that's usually pretty reliable.
Personally I couldn't see them adding colors, especially since it's still selling like gangbusters, but anyone else that works the retail side may want to take a look into this.

The plain fact is that adding new colors to a console has 2 effects:
1. It costs time and money to get factories running with new colors. Nintendo is supply constrained as it is; to frustrate the already over-burdened production by introducing new colors would make meeting supply even more difficult.
2. Introducing new consoles is traditionally done to reinvigorate lessening demand for a system, and it usually has just that very effect. Nintendo's system is in very high demand, so playing that card now would not only have no effect on sales, but would cause even greater demand where supply cannot meet it even now.
According to Kotaku, Nintendo reps have already stated a response to this idea and their response was that Nintendo is not contemplating new Wii color schemes until current supply issues are resolved.

Black console with a red wiimote(s). Oh yeah.
That or it's 4 people playing while being extremely intimate with each other.
And red disc slot.
That or you didn't look to the right of the green one and notice it right infront of you.
That controller looks quite silver to me.
Well son of a bitch, I didn't see the silver console in the back, and asumed there were only 4 colors.
I assumed it was black with glare over it.
My bad everybody, MY BAD!
That's because of the light reflecting off of it. It's the "black remote" in the picture.

No, it's silver. There is no black controller, there are black and silver Wiis.
No it's black stop your lies.
Other colours would just make that less likely to happen.
But that green one is pretty..
Look in the unlit areas - under the thumb or at the base. It's silver. Even with the light on it, the shadowed parts would look black. Notice how dark the red is in the same shadowed parts of the red controller.

Also, look at the base some more - you can see a flesh colored reflection, so whatever color it is, it's glossy.
Edit: It doesn't really matter in the end. Either way, one color was left out of the wiimote picture, but I doubt they'd ship five colors of Wii and only have matching controllers for four of them. It would be like randomly putting a blue stylus in the pink DS for some reason.

Looks like the same silver they used for the GCN
I never asked for this!
And yet if you painted some yellow triangles on the side everyone would be screaming for 10 of them. :P
I never asked for this!
Fresh!
If you have $ to burn and really want a new color this seems the way to go.
I should mention that is from a relatively recent THQ event.
not red
Nintendo officially states that the NES Zapper is "Safety Orange."

I bought both a grey zapper and orange zapper at the thrift store.
grey zappers are much heavier than the orange ones for some reason..

Incidentally the Silicone Jackets for the Wii are apparently quite good and not tacky looking at all. And if you don't mind busting up your warranty (although there are no tags to say you've opened it up) then there are complete shell replacements. I've debated doing mine, but I quite like the white look.
Hell, you can even buy the skins at amazon:
