Is it me, or do the Militia troops heavily outclass the Stormtroopers? In every instance in which I let the AI fight it out, the Militias just wipe out the stormies.
Well, except for the hanger bay. Strength in numbers, I guess.
This demo is a bit underwhelming after all the hype it's received. I have no doubt that it will be a fun game, it's just...I can't help but feel like I've played this before.

So the first time through, I threw a guy at a door. The door bent a little, and he got stuck. All he could do was kick helplessly while I laughed my ass off.
I knew I would never purposefully accomplish anything like that again, so I took a picture with my phone.
Oh, yeah. At first I thought I had glitched somebody halfway into the door. Only upon closer inspection did I realize what a hilariously awesome accident had occurred.
New combo I think I found. Or at least a cool move.
Lock on using RB get close then push forwards and LB and you roll around the side of them, hit X when you do and you slash them from the side.
Also, it seems there are a few dodge combos, get in close with one of the baton rebels then when they swipe (while locked on) pull back from them and hit LB and you flip backwards, while mid flip hit Y and you force lightning them in mid air just like the combo in Soul Calibur 4 with the Apprentice.
Also, there is a long saber combo, ending with you pounding the ground and flipping the guy up about 6 ft. When he hits the apex of the jump hit B and you force push him away. So it would be something like X, X, X, B then B again.

Dude, awesome finds.
I find so many demos these days would be so much better if they actually spelled out your moves. Sounds like I have a lot more dicking around to do with this demo.

You can hold r2 to block most shots. He swings the saber around him and blocks most stuff. Using that and dash you can get close to dudes and unleash.
I love how you can combine the moves, like hit saber swing once, then lightning, then push, and it does a normal swing, then a lightning swing, then pushes the guys away from you.
I'll be buying this.
Slight whinge at the comboey nature and the green things but thats about it. I'm going to go smash shit around some more.
I love grabbing a storm trooper and throwing tapping up or down on left to bounce him off the floor or throw him straight up.
Or grab a guy, throw your saber into him, lightning him up then throw him at an atst.

The demo just didn't really give you a good sense of the DMM features I thought.
Also force grabbing is really awkward especially when you are constantly getting hit by literally hundreds of lasers
The force grabbing was awkward at first but you have to remember that the game does a lot of the aiming for you. Grab, press sticks in the general direction you want to throw, release. Wham-bam. With a little practice I could get it going very fast.
My biggest issue with the game right now is I have a hard time making it target the specific thing I want it to target sometimes.

Yeah. On the higher difficulties I've been treating it more like a force launch than a grab when surrounded. Quickly flicking a guy off screen with a tremendous pull is great.
"No thanks, dont want to deal with you, bye bye" and wham he goes flying eight miles vertically upwards.
the ATST fight is a pain because you try to target a force push or something and then a container catches your eye in the corner and you are fucked and stuck in the force push animation as it steps on you.
Also.
How the FUCK does an ATST stamping on the ground near you hurt you?

I dunno, how does taking a laser to the face not instantly kill you?
I was disappointed I couldn't just tear the ATST apart and had to do that QTE instead. Wanted to just shock it to death after having already seen the cinematic kill once.

I wanted to rip off its legs and force push the body into the abyss.
I just force impaled a guy way in the air and a TIE fighter crashed into my lightsaber, blew up, and my lightsaber went fucking flying and I didn't have it for like thirty seconds.

Some combos.
Saber, lightning, saber, lightning.
Saber, lightning, saber, push (does the ground pound)
Saber, lightning, saber, saber~push. (Does a two handed push, you need to do the push right after the first swing of this third saber press. Or you get a normal saber combo.)
You can also just jump into the air and charge your force push that way, jumping over some guys and charging it to max sends them flying. Oh and saber~push, as in saber once then immediately push, gives you a two handed push straight away.
Saber, lightning, lightning he does a giant ass lightning uppercut.
You can start swinging directly after a dash, so dash swing starts the combo.
Seems like all push moves in a combo end it. I wish you could continue it, like throw your saber or dash over to them or something.
I haven't tested if you can block or dash at any point in a combo yet.
Not giving you buttons cos I'm ps3. :P
I love this game.

I love this game. I spent FAR too long in random hallways tossing shit and people around. And as I was in the TieFighter bay ripping Tie Fighters and Bombers off the rack and tossing them around I was giggling like a maniac. Then I toss the last one and was like, ok, I GUESS I will move on. Then the racks rotate and refill, a tear came to my eye as I realized the developers love me.
The only thing I don't get is jump + attack. It may come in useful at othe rpoints, but right now since u can't levitate and move at the same time, I don't see the point of being able to hang in the air and attack.
But I gotta say, moving the beams in the way of the Tie Fighters to see them explode was FUCKING AWESOMETASTIC!!!!!!
Force Grab > Impale. Hold the impale button to keep it sticking in them, move the guy behind a group of enemies, release the impale button and the saber comes flying back to your hand chopping up the entire group.
Discard your dead trooper.

Oh and when you get to the first hanger all the way at the end of the first walkway is an infinite force powerup.
I really enjoyed that.

You know, it is possible to force push the AT-ST off the broken side of the platform, but it takes a unnecessary amount of work and isn't as cool as the QTE way.
Also, Charged Force Push is easily the best part of this demo.

aw
Planetary alignment or some bullshit?
Weren't the Clone Wars cartoons equally ridiculous, and considered canonical?
The canon explanation is that it looks fucking awesome.
Like...300 or something.
(Actual better example would be the Clone Wars cartoon)
Improving Technology in games and movies is my guess.
Well, except for the hanger bay. Strength in numbers, I guess.
And grenades.
And force pikes.
Anyone find it a bit hard to throw back grenades? Seriously, the slightest twitch of the stick and it flies away/explodes.
I knew I would never purposefully accomplish anything like that again, so I took a picture with my phone.

Enlist in Star Citizen! Citizenship must be earned!
Well it seems like it gives you access to more powerful dodge related moves via the left bumper.
Works exactly like Metroid Prime lock on.

I can only pray this is a move you unlock later.

Maybe old news, don't know.
Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread but thanks for bringing it up again for those who may have missed it.
I hope you do get a homing air dive attack later on in the game though.

I really enjoyed that.
Like, I can't stand on a walkway and look down and direct a push to the troopers below me. Or up to a passing TIE.
