I enjoyed Necrid. I remember getting pretty good with him. Didn't like Heihachi though. I'm sure he was good, but I would rather have had a guest character with weapons in my weapon fighting game.
That was why he was great. He had great damage, but you had to get in people's faces to use it.
Spawn was only dangerous if you played with the crazy weapons, and even when he could two shot you, his predictable move set and slow recovery speed meant he was still quite reasonable.

So essentially a shorter ranged, heavy-hitting Talim?
Damn. That actually sounds fun to play. But then again...

Like I said, I'm sure he was good, I just want to stab people, not punch them.
I disagree strongly. He had a ton of nasty horizontal/vertical combos that would switch from high to low and low to high basically at will.
And then once he got you off balance, a well placed throw would put you on the ground for optimum bombing.
Guess what a crouch block would do against those nasty high/low and low/high switches? ;-)
You can feel free to disagree strongly. But once you have a decent grasp of the system, you can see that Link has no tools at all to pressure you off balance. There's nothing to fear.

Link was absolutely the weakest character in Soul Calibur II.
His items were just gimmicks which were easily blocked/avoided. The only good move in his arsenal was his A throw, and any non-retard would just break any Link throw with A.
Link pissed me off a lot more than Yoshi, but then again maybe I just don't know any good Yoshi players.

A good Link was still a force to be reckoned with.
SCII had probably the best balance I've seen in terms of 3D fighters. Whereas just about every other fighting game devolves into a very short list of competetive characters, SC2's entire cast seemed fully capable of destroying the competition in the right hands.
If I ever face another Storm/Sentinel/Magneto team it will be too soon.

Oh hoh, good Yoshi players are some of the trickiest fighters outside of Voldo.
And goddamnit if I hear about how "good" Link is one more time...

I won't say Link wasn't the worst character in SC2. I've faced him enough times and used him enough times to know that his tricks are limited, his mix-ups predictable, and his items just this side of useless.
I'll just say that being the worst in that particular game is not that bad.

He is mainly a character used for hilarity's sake.
But there's just something to be said with putting a bitch down with Pink Link and the Butterfly Net.
I don't even like that book, but this is an abomination.
Until today I never envisioned a world where Diary of Anne Frank/Dragonball Z erotica could exist.
Now I can't imagine anything else.
My eyes cannot unsee it, so I have to laugh to keep from crying.
Truly, our race is a source of horror undreamt of even by Shub-Niggurath, The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young.
I'm not about to post some of the fanfiction that I've seen regarding the Cthulhu mythos, but rest assured that if a little thing like Anne Frank hooking up with Goku tested your resolve, some of the descriptive imagery of exactly what a Shoggoth can do would blow your mind.
But he has a very fast vertical rising, if I'm remembering correctly.
*shrugs* I never had a problem with any link I faced. But, that's just me. I know he's lower tier, not that SC2 had a huge tier gap or anything. I mean, at least he is better than Yun-seong, right?

Assassin, who steals a bunch of Yunsung's moves is pretty beastly, though.

I've never understood this 'tier' thing when it comes to Fighting Games. Isn't it just a snazzy way of saying, 'These characters are better than these ones'?

Basically, yes. In any game, no matter how hard a developer tries some characters are going to come out statistically better than others. In fighting games, characters often end up being defined by their bugs and glitches that the developers never ever intended. Characters get organized into an order of best to worst based on their statistics and then the list gets divided up into tiers (top, middle, bottom, etc).
In some games the gaps between tiers are huge, in better made games its a lot smaller.

Then he would pogo your silly low blocking ass.
Crouch block does nothing against high blows!

True. SCII is the most well-balanced 3D fighter to date.
But I was setting up to post something terrible, so here goes:

To use an old forum meme,

Simply continue increasing the number of blades of said lightsaber. Its awesomeness will increase with each addition.
And yet again, Tim Buckley proves that you can ruin a half-decent joke by simply tacking on an additional panel.

Okay, now I prefer that one.

Wait...this is an actual book? I thought it was a fanfic written by some 14 something year old girl.
Edit: Okay...I was right...I still have fate in the world.
I am almost certain that this is the point.
I hadn't placed that that was what it was from.
That is...
that...
I'ma go kill maself now.
You know the sad thing...I've actually seen worse.

Uhh... Doesn't crouch blocking duck high blows leaving your opponent wide open to your counter attack?
Damnit, I don't remember. Maybe.

In the hands of expert players, basically.
