You know what this thread needs? More wild-ass speculation.

On that note, I spent a couple seconds brainstorming a potential moveset for Wind Waker Link (all necessary assumptions made), with the goal of differentiating him from the Link we already know about. This is what I came up with:
B: Slingshot. Functions a bit like Link's Bow in that it has more kinetic energy the longer you hold down the button. However, the projectile is affected by gravity much more than the arrows, and the attack can be launched at a player-controlled angle.
B-Tilt: Skull Hammer. Can be used one of two ways. As a tilt, Link pulls the hammer around behind him and smashes downward, driving enemies into the ground or spiking them (depending whether or not they're in the air). As a smash, Link swings the hammer sideways, doing the same amount of damage but knocking the enemy away instead.
B-Up: Deku Leaf. A gust of wind carries Link upward, and he slowly glides downward. Pressing B while the leaf is out causes the leaf to inflate, knocking away enemies directly above Link (like in Wind Waker). Used on the ground, this attack pushes enemies backward without damaging them (like Mario's FLUDD or Squirtle's Water Gun).
B-Down: Iron Boots. Used in the air, Link crashes straight down with his Iron Boots on. While on the ground, Link loses most of his mobility, but is far, far heavier (harder to knock off and falls a lot faster). Deactivated by pressing Down-B again.

    Throw: The Grappling Hook.

Final Smash: Hurricane Spin. Link slides along the ground, spinning and screaming and whatnot. You can also jump and double-jump while the Final Smash is going on, to catch people on higher platforms. After the attack concludes, Link is dizzy for a few seconds.

That's a great move list but I think that maybe his final smash should be him busting out the wind waker and calling in a massive tornado with the frog king riding it, sending people flying up off the screen.

By "frog king" do you mean Cyclos?

Thanks for reminding me of that. Yeah, we totally need something like that.

Maybe defeated players join "the audience" and can help out a player they like? Throw out an item. Or throw out a Bob-omb or something if they don't like them.

So.... in the chronicles menu it lists every Nintendo game.
The names show up as you get stuff from those games.

    Star Tropics content confirmed?

Stock is the best because it gives the game a narrative, rather than just a crazy brawl/melee.

If there is Star Tropics content, it'd better not just be a fucking yo-yo. I will be really disappointed. Though I guess that's the iconic weapon from it.

    Hm..
I forget - have we seen anything that showed the total number of points during a timed match? I seem to have the idea that we have but I'm not really sure.

A thread on smashboards is keeping track of all the major proported leaks, comparing them, pointing out where they contradict and, impressively, pressing for more information and getting a lot of people to admit they lied.

All the debunked ones are getting thrown out, leaving fewer and fewer remaining in the list, which is updated daily. There's still quite a few contradictions, but they're lessening... and you can see a fuzzy outline of a consensus among them. Interesting. Check it out:

    http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=135778

I really wish they'd stop putting faith in Serebii.

I mean, for you guys it seems like he's legit. But he's not the type to go "I have Brawl info...but I'll keep it to myself."

    He's never coy.
He likes to blow his load and get hits TODAY.
He's only coy if there's a chance he's wrong(HE didn't get the info) or he's making stuff up to get people excited.

ROB64 was shown as a trophy in an update from long ago. I think it was the update that talks about how you can place your trophies and take pictures or something.

I was just looking at Wiki's WarioWare character list. I wanted Kat and Ana before, but Ashley and Red would be great. Sort of like Ice Climbers, only Red turns into a wand for some attacks.

Really though, 9-Volt needs to be in the game. He'd be like the rookie that's so amazed and honored to be competing with all these stars. He has a hoverboard that could function like Wario's motorcycle, he could use the NES Zapper, other moves based on old games, a Final Smash involving 18-Volt, etc.

He's the spokesperson for Nintendo nostalgia, he'd be perfect for Smash.

Also, Pyoro should be an Assist.

I wouldn't call a trophy a "Smash Bros character," would you? And it's awfully coincidental that he singled out Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, one of which has playable characters and the other is very heavily rumored to.

It was a trick question. The real answer is to play Mario Galaxy. After a long break I went back and played it with some friends over the weekend (it was the first time for them) and was stunned at just how awesome it was again. It has the same replay quality as the old Super Mario Brothers.
