So my wife and I just bought a new house, which has brought with it all kinds of fun new places for us to sink our hard earned cash, not to mention a general increase on monthly bills and the jump in size of the mortgage over the rent. Add to that the fact that we're trying to be fiscally responsible and start splintering away some money to go into a Roth IRA, and there ends up not being much money left over for, you know,
fun.
I work for a production company, so my schedule needs to be fairly fluid, and changeable with short notice. Unfortunately this pretty much eliminates the option of grabbing a part time job at the mall. This leaves me looking for the holy grail of cash influx- I'd love to find something that I can do from home whenever my schedule permits that has a nice high return rate. But of course anything advertising those terms is indubitably a scam.
Right now I'm signed up with a few survey sites, but they tend to be pretty hit and miss, and have a fairly low return on the time invested. Anything appealing I've seen on Craigslist has ended up being spam, and I haven't had much luck on other job sites sifting through part time listings. Beyond needing flexibility, I don't really have many qualifiers- I don't care if it's hard work (providing the payout is reasonable) or mindless clicking, computer based or
IRL- I'm just not sure where to start looking while avoiding a wealth of spam EARN SUPER $$$ FROM HOME FOR REAL ALSO INCREASE YOUR SIZE BY 3"!! type postings

Of course you have to be able to type really fast or you will be making like 50 cents an hour.
I've seen that option come up in discussions alongside survey-taking, but haven't really seen any listings for it around. Good to hear it has potential, though.
Once I get a nicer still camera, it seems that stock photo sites have the potential to be somewhat lucrative. Also thinking about trying to break in with a happenin' design on threadless, cafe press or the like. Seems worth a shot.
Start looking for upward mobility. You really should have planned for the increase in expenses before you bought the house, instead of getting the house and finding you don't have enough cash flow to go around.
That's it in a nutshell. I went into more details about what I did in my blog, but there's no need to post all that here because I doubt anyone is much interested.
