So I have my R2007a release of MATLAB installed on my MacBook running 10.5.1
Using their activation software, I'm trying to activate my product.
I've entered my serial number, my email address and password. My MATLAB account was pulled up.
When I try to get through step two It pulls up this window
I fill out the fields, hit send and this error message comes up
There is no space to put my date of graduation.
Am I missing something here?
This is the second version of MATLAB I have bought in the past two years, and It is always a ROYAL pain in the ass to activate and run this damn software. What is MATLAB on a mac such a fucking abortion (and not just because it runs under X11)
I just went online and added my year of graduation onto my MATLAB account through their website.
Then it accepted it
thread done, unless people have more MATLAB questions for some reason

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you buy it from, and how much did it cost? I'm taking some pretty MATLAB intensive courses this semester, and I'm considering getting my own copy for my laptop. Is it affordable at all?
Edit - I should probably mention, my laptop is a 12" Powerbook G4, running OS X Tiger.
If you're at a university, usually the cheapest possible way is if your school has some sort of software purchasing website set up that you can order through... though it may depend a bit on how "necessary" it is for your work
I think MATLAB you can purchase at a Student price from MathWorks themselves, but your student bookstore (if it has a computer section) would probably have the student edition as well for the cheapest price you'll get retail-wise
just because I looked recently - I believe the student edition is ~$100, though they have a billion add-on packages that are varying degrees of usefulness... I know that I could order a copy for my lab computer for $45 through the school's deal, but I don't think that applies to personal purchases for us
*edit: however, those might be yearly licenses... I know Mathematica used to be like that, and I think MATLAB might be as well
