Alright, yeah, I can buy Pit being the one next to Olimar, but that guy behind Marth doesn't look much like Falcon to me. Falcon's buff, that guy looks like a damn twig.
However, I really doubt it's anybody else, so let's just say it's Falcon until it's proven otherwise.

Coincidentally, none of the "villain" characters (read: the ones with the special Subspace equipment) seem to be in that screenshot. Nothing doing either way with regards to Wolf, I suppose...

I thought it was an enhanced sound from some sort of tape deck mechanism for the humming idle, and the crackles were done by introducing bends into the film on the deck. I happen to have my "Star Wars Trilogy Bonus Material" DVD here, so I'll check.

EDIT: It's the sound of the projectors that they used in the recording booths for the hum, and the buzz was the sound of a bad microphone on a tape recorder picking up the sound of a picture tube from a television set. They also added other sounds, like a "swooshing vacuum cleaner" or "the clash when something hits dry ice."

Kinda sad about the missed opportunities with movesets for these two. Ganon would've been awesome with sword(s), and WW Link would've been great with the hammer and the leaf for recovery and stuff.
Ganondorf definitely has a couple of Captain Falcon's attacks but it's hard to tell if he's a total clone because the AI is so damn retarded. Maybe they Luigi-fied him, but they should have made him from scratch ffs, he has nothing to do with Captain Falcon.
It's hard to get upset about Toon Link being a clone because, come on, he's Link. As long as he plays very differently it's alright. I would have liked a Deku Leaf recovery or something though.
Gannondorf looks like his moveset has been slightly altered so he's not totally like Falcon. His Up-B looked changed. Perhaps this "Luigi"-fication carries over to Falco as well.
Like I said, I'm not mourning Ganon's staying the same too much, as he was shit hot in Melee. Toon Link? Ehhhhhh. I'm not a huge fan of the basic Link archetype they've had since SSB.
