Alrighty guys, I'm leaving to pick up my wife and scour the city for this thing, wish me luck! I'll post impressions if I succeed, and sad faces if I fail.

The more I see of Pit the more I think, yeah, yeah, that's the character for me.
I think it'll frustrate the hell out of people to be on the downside of a fight against nananananana
He looks like he will be the character to "Annoy the hell out of whoever you are fighting", between his ridiculous recovery, quick projectiles, and NANANANANA
My friend Julian always plays as peach in melee. He's the player who isn't very technically skilled, but is good at running away and being as annoying as possible, and downsmashing when you least expect it.
He's also a huge pit fan. I forsee much "NANANANA" in the future.
It might just be the fact that I'm used to watching players who constantly fastfall and wavedash and such, but does the game seem a lot more... 'floaty', to you guys? It looks a bit slower and it looks like a lot of characters spend a lot of time in the air once the jump, at least from what I see in these videos.

Yeah, the game is definitely floatier.
I remember Sakurai saying something a long time ago about making the game slower paced and more focused on the aerial aspect.
edit: Which might be the case, as it always is, for casual players, but I am afraid that the removal of l-canceling will focus the game more on shield grabbing, encouraging characters to stay on the ground and punishing aerial attacks. So, by ostensibly making the game more accessible, Sakurai (if this turns out to be the case) will have produced a game which focuses on the exact opposite of his stated goal: the game at a tournament level will turn into camping shield-grab fests, with none of the speed possibilities of Melee.
So, basically, how Melee was before people discovered l-canceling.
I really hope there is a technique to be discovered that alleviates this.

Yeah, it is. We've known about floatiness since E4All, and its estimated that its probably why the game seems "slower" -- I think someone mentioned that Sakurai said he wanted the game to be more aerial based? Or something. Either way, this element is what making people think Lucario is a Mewtwo clone, when he clearly isn't.
What would compel them to lock matches to 3 min timed? It's the saved replay time limit? I mean, it just about completely removes added stuff like having to switch pokemon due to how short it is.
...You can change the time.
No you can't, from what people are saying who are playing it (this being the With Anyone feature).
I'm actually kind of glad the random online play is as gimped, random, and stupid as it is.
It means that there might still be hope for the traveling, face-to-face community of the melee scene. It's really cool and nice to physically be in the same room as people you're playing.

Isn't that assuming tourny players don't use items?

I think that regardless of how well it goes, I doubt that tournament players will just give up the scene for online play.
I dunno, but Fox's falling speed seems to be as fast as in Melee. Also, from what I've heard, L-cancelling is still in the game, only it does it automatically now as in reduced lag when landing.

With Friends will work fine. It's just With Anyone that is over-the-top restrictive.
And I'm never glad when any feature is gimped, random, and stupid.

From my experience with tournies, I HIGHLY doubt people who are extremely serious will opt for online over offline. I dont care how good your connection is or how good the game runs, there will always be a slight lag factor. While insignificant to most, for the serious fighter this is enough to make them not want a truely serious match to take place there.
I personally picture online as a good place to play people you might not normally play, and to play for fun. Tournaments are still cool but they would prolly still be casual tournaments.

The complete removal of wavedashing (due to how they changed the air dodge) has really slowed the game down.

Man, I was just going to post in the cheap fighting character thread about Marth being all grab, grab, grab, grab, jump, d-air, d-air, you're dead kthxbai.
It's good to see a little Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time love. I love that game.
Hm?
It was only a song on the List of starting My Music for Musroomy Kingdom yesterday. Gritzy Desert I believe it was. Keeps me hopeful for more though. An assist trophy of Baby Mario and Luigi doing a drill attack that comes back up and drills someone in the ass or something.

This is pretty sad.
It's not like you can cross shielding people over or anything
I was watching this video: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EdF2m7x_ivw (from that guy whos posts lots on youtube) and I hadn't seen a lot of diddy kong so i was watching him, and at 1:50 I just couldn't help but burst out laughing at what happened to him. Maybe its cause hes constantly screaming throughout the match but i just found it funny.
Also since Lucario inherited some of Mewtwo's moveset, what if he sucks as bad as Mewtwo did in melee? oh oh! Then people will all be Lucario sucks hes horrible! Just like they say about Mewtwo cause he was given crappy moves. You all say he looks so badass and you can't wait to kick ass with him, what if hes horrible? I'm sad Mewtwo is not in the game but maybe his horrible character legacy will LIVE ON in Lucario! Bwhaha!! n_n

The main thing that made Mewtwo suck was the fact that he was slow and light. Lucario is quick as hell. And he has inherited one move maybe? Aura Sphere is even better than Shadow Ball too.
He has one move that is possibly borrowed from Mewtwo. Everything else seems to be different. And aura sphere seems to move in a wave (I think, but I'm not certain), not random like shadow ball was...
Basically if you consider Lucario a clone of Mewtwo, you probably consider Mewtwo a clone of Samus. :P
The Legacy will live on! From the few videos I've seen he doesn't really look to have anything impressive, besides his FS. But this is all specualtion, I haven't seen a good video of Lucairo in action yet.
Also Lucairo's Forward smash is the same as Mewtwos.

Must be both of them then, because at the start I saw Ness doing it and heard a nanananana. Unless I'm horribly, horribly wrong.

Secret Satan

I remember in one of the commercials, there's a shot of Pit attacking Meta Knight with no one else there, and the shout in question is there.

Ya know, there's likely multiple ways to unlock characters, just like there was in Melee.

Nothing is worse than playing against someone that lives and breathes the game.
It's kinda like Mario Kart DS and the online snakers. It's gives those who don't that "Why do I even bother?" sentiment.

I'm...pretty sure he's not as bad as Mewtwo.
I mean he only has one move from him. He's not even vaguely a clone.
Lucario is a badass. You shut your fucking mouth.
Besides that, have you seen him in action?
But after seeing him in action, I kind of like him
I will forever wonder why they bothered cutting Mewtwo when there are now three Fox-like characters, though
Make him a bit heavier, maybe a little faster, maybe his recovery a bit better and he would have been good to go
