It might just be the fact that I'm used to watching players who constantly fastfall and wavedash and such, but does the game seem a lot more... 'floaty', to you guys? It looks a bit slower and it looks like a lot of characters spend a lot of time in the air once the jump, at least from what I see in these videos.
Yeah, the game is definitely floatier.
I remember Sakurai saying something a long time ago about making the game slower paced and more focused on the aerial aspect.
edit: Which might be the case, as it always is, for casual players, but I am afraid that the removal of l-canceling will focus the game more on shield grabbing, encouraging characters to stay on the ground and punishing aerial attacks. So, by ostensibly making the game more accessible, Sakurai (if this turns out to be the case) will have produced a game which focuses on the exact opposite of his stated goal: the game at a tournament level will turn into camping shield-grab fests, with none of the speed possibilities of Melee.
So, basically, how Melee was before people discovered l-canceling.
I really hope there is a technique to be discovered that alleviates this.
Isn't that assuming tourny players don't use items?
Yes. I think that is a fair point. But at this point, the tournament scene has been item-less since about 2003 if I recall correctly. Which means most serious players haven't been using items in tournaments for about 6 years. That's a long time, and I know a lot of us are plain old used to no items at this point.
But you do raise a good point, because if items are what it takes to reduce campiness and make brawl more fun competitively, I think they should be included. ESPECIALLY if exploding crates and barrels and pills can be turned off this time around.

Nothing is worse than playing against someone that lives and breathes the game.
It's kinda like Mario Kart DS and the online snakers. It's gives those who don't that "Why do I even bother?" sentiment.
Speaking as someone who got 16 stocked in the original smash brothers by Isai, I can tell you that slowing down the game does not do much to lessen the gap between the top players and any given person.
But you do raise a good point, because if items are what it takes to reduce campiness and make brawl more fun competitively, I think they should be included. ESPECIALLY if exploding crates and barrels and pills can be turned off this time around.
I mean he only has one move from him. He's not even vaguely a clone.
Outside of his neutral B, i saw Lucario do some moves that look very similar to Mewtwo's up smash and forward smash.
His up smash is a damn uppercut, not a magic glowy ball of death. His forward (or down, I cannot tell) smash is him moving his arms like some martial artist then hitting either side of him with palms (yeah, sounds like a downsmash). His Side B resembles ExtremeSpeed, but so does his Up+B.
I can't really tell what his forward smash is.
EDIT: I see what his forward smash is. It is similar to Mewtwos in that he palm-blasts someone infront of him, but his fighting style is completely different... so you know.

I'm hoping its similar but improved, kinda like if they had put Mewtwo back in and improved him but put on Lucario instead. But yeah, I still think he'll be bad until i see something prove otherwise. He looks floaty and light and didn't do much damage with his moves... n_n

either doens't explode or can be shut off now.
That's awesome.
Yeah, it's looking like none of the containers but the exploding crate explode and that can be shut off. Don't take my word for it tho, we don't know for certain yet.

I'm assuming exploding crates cover all exploding containers. It'd be stupid to have seperate icons for exploding capsules and party balls. And fitting a picture of all 3 items into one graphic would be confusing too.

I don't see what you're seeing. At all. Plus a lot of people in this game are floaty, and Lucario seems pretty speedy to boot.

"I think he'll be bad despite no evidence to it" and "n_n" completely invalidate anything he says anyway.

I was never all that interested in SSE until all these leaks. Now it looks like an excellent 2 player beat-em-up to go with my multiplayer fighting game. I haven't made any attempt at reading the story though. I don't know why, I just haven't.

You assume there's a story?
Famous Nintendo characters are beating the shit out of each other

Snake's in a box
And oh fuck everyone's in trouble but then Sonic saves the motherfucking day!!!
I'm about 80% certain this is the actual story to SSE.

Does anyone know Toon Link's final smash yet
Is it just the Triforce Slash again or is it something different
(in before Landmaster)

I assume they'll spin around for a little while?

I don't think that Operating Robot is any Buddy of ours.

The awesome part is that when she starts the armor falls and you can pick it up and throw it at people from the get-go.
