Video Games and Snacking, The Art Of

If you are like me (and I hope you are, because that means things are going well for you), you have an exciting and daring appetite for all things food related. Game time is no exception, and no matter how absorbed I get I must still obey the demands of my gastrointestinal overlords.
What types of food and/or beverage do you consume whilst playing games? I have evolved a lot since high school in terms of the food I would eat during gaming sessions.
- In high school, every guy at our LAN party would bring a case of Mountain Dew and nacho cheese Doritos. The room would smell like death after a few hours. But shit, I LIVED on that stuff when I gamed.
I also remember binging on Mike and Ikes for a long time in college. Now I eat Wheat Thins and drink water. Sure is a far cry from my high school days.

Foods -
Fruit (Kiwi, Banana and Apple mostly)
Cereal (Fruit and Fiber)
Leftovers (whenever I cook, I intentionally make too much so there is leftovers for when I am hungry)
Drinks -
Ribena (light, because I drink far too much of the stuff)
Water
And if I am feeling unlazy, I make Lemon/Orange juice. Pint glass + Juice of one lemon and one orange + top up with water.

In stunning contrast my snacking would consist of
Pringles
McCoys (Flame Grilled Steak of course)
Kit Kats. I open them all before I eat and put like 20 'fingers' in a bowl and eat them all.
Drinks?
Pepsi, Coke, anything carbonated.
Sometimes water.
Often beer.
And yet I only weigh just over 12st for someone 6ft 1.
Occasionally I will eat while I game, triscuits and cheese or maybe some leftovers that I had to heat so I don't go overboard. Drinking however When I have a case I'll have a bottle of Bawls and when I don't I will drink some propel or water.
I've lost weight as gaming has taken more of my spare time, precisely because it keeps my hands busy and demands all my attention, unlike movies and television.

Beer is not a "snack." It's a meal, and don't you forget it!
I'll have some sort of beverage while I play, but unless it's a really slow game, I don't eat at all -- that involves putting my controller down, and why would I do that? And if you do decide to eat while gaming at my house, I'm dropping some Wet-Naps knowledge on y'all because I'll be damned if you grease up my Rock Band controllers with your Cheeto-stained digits.
Mmm, kiwi are great, but unless I take the trouble skin'n'slice em, my fingers get all sticky. So they are more of a snack between gaming sessions kind of thing for me.
Nowadays? Water. Occasionally some peanuts, or triscuit or something.
EDIT: haha, crafted this post while only 4 were still showing up. Beer. That's a snack too. Right now we're working on a case of Boulevard Bob's 47 we got for dirt cheap from our local liquor proprietor.
I don't eat while playing. And I usually slap anyone's hands off the controller if they choose to chow down and then pick up the shiny guitar and get it all dirty. Occasionally sunflower seeds, but usually only while playing something I can put down to spit shells into a container.
I do drink, usually water or coffee. But, then again, that's what I usually drink anyway. I don't have weird, video game related food habits. I don't really understand that.
I don't eat and game. I remember once reading a review of Scratches where the reviewer said he got out a nice bottle of wine, some grapes and cheese for the experience (he claimed this is what he did for all adventure games he played.)
So...after reading that, I did cut up an apple, get some brie and crackers out for Murder on the Orient Express but I never really eat and game.
And I drink water. Unless, of course, I'm having an adult beverage for the distinguished gentleman.

Depends whatever is in the house. Chips? Sure (but that's only when on the computer with some napkins nearby, never while actually gaming). Cookies, leftovers, anything sweet of any kind. Lately I've been loving peanut butter sandwhiches for all types of snacking. I like to drink Coke or another form of pop when gaming, but I haven't had pop in the house in forever so it's usually water instead.
I find RPG's are the best things to snack with. There's a lot of downtime and if you have a lot of snacks and drinks I find it really easy to get absorbed for a long time.
Despite all the junk food and crap I eat I am the farthest away from fat you can possibly get. I'm fucking tiny.
Your body will love you if you get "Cheddar Potato Bake" microwaveable food. I think they sell it at Wal-Mart.
You don't even need to game, you just need to eat it.
Now.
I guess I'll add to this thread. I only really eat when I'm playing computer. I've found myself more in the habit of stepping away and eating upstairs at the table or our counter instead of at my computer now, since it's more comfortable and allows me to unwind a little better. Food ranges between anything that is edible really.
As far as drinks go, I'll sometimes have a soda (I get free ones at work so I try to stay away from em at home) and will usually have milk or water.
Beverages (in order of likely consumption):
Diet Dr Pepper
Coffee
Water
Food:
Sea Salt Reduced Fat Ruffles. They taste way better than regular Ruffles and you can put your hands on your controller without feeling like you're leaving a trail of grease in your wake.
I don't drink anymore whilst playing games because it just makes me get worse and worse at them, then I drink more and more trying to get the 'buzz' back so i'm in the zone again.
Then I get slaughtered and end up with a hangover or insulting my ex girlfriend on MSN, or worse, having them come over to my place where I sober up immediately and kick them out again.

I'm surprised that somebody else here has even heard of Scratches.
Anyway, water and possibly apple juice are my 2 main staples, and maybe some fruit. Generally though it's difficult to eat / drink and game at the same time, so snacking usually only really comes into it if I'm watching (or sometimes reading) something instead of gaming.
the commissions you get from savvy gamer feed your rabid alcoholism dont they?
Nah, those are going towards his trip to Amsterdam.
this post made me laugh because i remember that other post in that other thread concerning lewiep and amsterdam which still makes me chuckle a few times a day.
Just the lol of someone sipping on wine while playing games.
I occasionally drink red wine whilst playing. I usually just drink from the bottle however, as I'm rock n roll and it saves me digging out wine glasses.
As for snacks: I don't tend to munch on much while playing unless I'm going for a long haul session, then it's Mccoys or Pringles and maybe some Revels and a large bottle of water or coke.

If I'm doing something that keeps me from noticing how much I've eaten? Double bad.

Hopefully you are referring to me calling Rosé wine Rosémon, not the fact that I am a borderline alcoholic.
