Thanks for the input guys. Subsistence is a variant on MGS2 right? I guess I'll have to venture to Gamestop to see then... I remember playing a bit of Snake Eater and not being horrible so I may as well pick them both up if not to just to say "Yeah I have some MGS games" :P
Nighty Nine Nights... god damn... it had so much potential to be a mindless grind game of fun, just slaughtering armies with your hero... yet they fucked it up somehow.

If you really want one of those, see Dynasty Warriors/That one Gundam hack and slash/any fucking thing by Koei.
Edit: Just found out it was Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. I shouldn't have to point out the egregorious stupidity involved in the inception of that ridiculous fucking title.

No, Substance is the MGS2 variant, while Subsistence is the MGS3 variant. Get Subsistence. It's very good.

Enter the Martix...
I was all caught up in the matrix hype and ignored the negitive previews...
Bought this garbage on day one.
The idea seemed kinda neat to see the story from a different angle...
Seriously that game was so broken and terrible... I would fall through floors and walls. The driving portions made me want to cry.
I truly understood the pain of license games after this.

I was planning on getting it and was so excited about it.
Luckily I saw The Matrix Reloaded before I would have stopped to get the game it tempered my enthusiasm and I decided to wait because I'd been hearing negative things about it. I'm grateful because I was going to buy the PC version too.
I liked how in interviews, the developers kept saying things like "We know it doesn't look all that great, but it's one of the things that will be improved by launch" and then it looked exactly the same as it did in the previews.

I regret buying Lord of the Rings Online. I never even got a character to level 10. Pathetic.
Also, as for Enter the Matrix, I rather enjoyed it. Sure, it was terribly flawed, but I still had some fun with it. Of course, I got it for real cheap, my opinion might be different had I payed full price for it.

I somehow expected it to be something other than a command and conquer styled game. Don't know why. Ugh, can't get my money back on that one. At least I got enough money from Dark Alliance to buy a playstation game.
Spiderman 2 when I was in Uni, I bought it for the PC as that was the machine I had at the time, was a complete pile of pants
The PC version was a completely separate game from the console versions. A friend of mine made the same mistake after seeing good reviews of the console versions, he bought the PC version because hes completely inept with controllers and prefers PC versions if possible(Seriously, the fucker bought Sands of Time for PC and played it with a mouse and keyboard, I still don't get how), found out it was utter crap, and ended up buying the Xbox version anyways and playing the hell out of it.
PoP:SoT is easy with KBAM. It's a really good port of a very consoley game compared to most of the other shit that gets brought over to the PC.

Also, as opposed to Enter The Matrix and other older ports, PS2 pad adapters and/or 360 wired controllers were available around the PoP games, so the ones I played on the PC I played with a pad and in HD. The only thing that wasn't there in PoP:SoT was the original PoP version, but it got thrown in in the collector's edition later, which is still the ultimate Sands of Time version.
The Two Thrones sadly had Starforce though. I still don't understand why Ubisoft don't patch starforce out of older games, there are a bunch of Starforce'd games I would love to play on my PC but won't, some I even own. Chaos Theory, King Kong, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, and those are just Ubisoft.
Yeah, not a bad game either. It has a lot of charm and creativity, but the game play is just so fucking annoying later on that I can't bring myself to finish it.
Overlord was a pretty good game IMO, but some aspects of it were slightly annoying as hell. The MP was way too laggy and at some points impossibly hard, plus in the game you're playing as an 'Evil' guy (sorta, not spoilering it) but to actually get 100% corruption took fucking forever just because of the stupid 10000 villagers thing.
i really liked the humor in overlord, but i was really pissed that i wasted 60 buck on it, woulda been worth about 10
I definitely regret buying Yoshi's Island DS. Terrible game - horrible engine, bad "look at us, we can sort-of copy Nintendo's original graphics a bit" graphics. Artoon should've either asked to use the original engine and graphics, or just not have bothered.
Wrong on all accounts. Only thing wrong with it was that it was on the DS. It should have been on the console and by console I mean the cube and not fucked up with Wii spaz type control methods. Just a good honest platformer.

Game was selling it for about 19€ new last month. I got mine used for like 12. It feels much better at that cost, makes you excited for Pikmin 3, if it ever happens.
sneak king- it might have only been 4 bucks, but all i wanted to do was ambush people forcing them to eat hamburgers, insted i danced around alot
Sneak King is terrible, but Big Bumpin' was actually a decent party game. It was like a $4 version of Fuzion Frenzy, except it gets rid of most of the annoying crap. Hockey entertained me and 3 friends for a night. It sees limited action.
I guess I sort of regret buying Black and White 1 and 2. They're decent enough to play, but I've never had the patience to beat them. I think I stopped B&W1 on the 3rd or 4th world. There's just not much of a difference between worlds or something, I don't even know what the problem is (the creature is far less annoying in 2, at least...then again, I spent most of my time in 1 in the level where he's stolen, anyway).

TOB is a better package (and it has Portal in it, which is a better game itself), but I actually blame gamers on being bored with AC.
I don't want to open that can of worms yet again, but there are ways to play that game that are fun and ways that aren't. You merely made the wrong choices by attacking every situation from the same angle. Freedom has a price and a responsibility, you know?
It's like complaints about the combat. If you stand your ground and focus on countering every attack, it's a very boring system. If you move, run and fight only when you can't get away, it's the most cinematic, action packed swordfighting system out there. It's not a fighting system, it's a fighting while on the run system that can be broken by playing it as straightforward combat.
The whole game seems built in this way. That's why some people don't get it, I think.
x-III the movie game- im not even sure why i bought this it was so crappy
Are you talking about that cel-shaded game? If so, die!! That game was so awesome!
I'm pretty sure they meant the horrible, horrible X-Men game, which starred such huge names as Hugh Jackman, gay dude who played Nightcrawler, random white guy who played Ice Man, and Asian chick that died in X-Men 2. Apparently, they couldn't afford proper cut scenes after handing out the massive voice acting checks to all that top talent.
I got it for free and I still feel ripped off, Halo 2. I guess the worst game I spent money on was Call of Duty 2. It was a rail shooter without the rails or the fun or the light gun.

I don't get it. Everyone splooges over COD 2, and then calls COD3 the "rail shooter without the rails."
I never played COD2, but damn, everyone splooges over it and Infinity Ward for making it.
Madden 07 - It's not a terrible game, but it's not great either. The thing that tore it for me was the online play. More than the normal cheesing that you always see, Madden 07 made it wonderfully possible to take the snap, sprint 15 yards backwards, and throw blind to an always-open-no-matter-what receiver. I gave it a sporting chance then traded it in.
Then I bought NCAA 08. This game, along with Tiger Woods 2008, convinced me that EA is just releasing graphical updates of the same minus the fun. The gameplay is the same as NCAA 05, but they took out everything that made it worth playing. That game felt like freaking work.

he was actually complaining about Cod2, not 3.
I've only played CoD4, but supposedly the big let down is that CoD3 wasn't a huge step forward like CoD2 or CoD4 were.

I know, that's why I'm surprised. Everyone (except Cronus here) splooges over COD 2, and yet, COD3 is the one that everyone (besides Cronus) calls the Rail Shooter and hates on it.
Here, Cronus's complaints are levelled at #2. Having never played it, I would have assumed that by all of the splooging that people give COD2, and all the hate levelled at 3 for being a 'rail shooter', I would have assumed that 2 was somehow magically far better and not so 'rail shooter'-ey, just because that was the primary complaint of COD 3 by like every reviewer ever.
I've never played COD 2, but it seems like everyone splooges over it. If it's at all like the description given by Cronus, I was just commenting that it seems funny to me that complaints are levelled against COD3 for the same reasons, whilst everyone nevertheless loves COD2. (except Cronus)
Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I just find it funny.

it could be worse you could have gotten the rrod at the last level of the game after playing for like 6 hours straight.

And you weren't lying, gamepro is still stupid.
