Cap was all kinds of crazy this week. I liked the preview pages that showed upa few days ago with Bucky shooting couple AIM guys and the shield bouncing off the last guy behind him.
Here's a decent looking shot of his new costume.
And here's how Skull is ratcheting up the fear and chaos in America.
Ya, those are more of Faustus' brainwashed agents opening fire on protesters outside the White House. He's also had his corporations up oil prices by like double, forclose houses across the country and generally fuck shit up. The issue read fast, but a lot of ground was covered.
I really should be reading Cap I think, but I haven't caught up on the trades and fear I'd be lost with out 'em
I think if you start around when Cap died, you'd be more than fine. While the first dozen or so issues deal with bringing back Bucky and setting up Lukin and the Skull (and it is awesome), they aren't essential to this new section of the book. At least I don't think you'd be missing out on as long as you maybe do a quick Wikipedia or something for the first bunch of issues.
Also, everyone should buy What If? Spider-Man Vs Wolverine.

I've got the first two trades (Winter Solider) but I think I'll wait and catch up first then maybe come into the monthlies.
I know that in the Iron Heights prison in Keystone they force the inmates to stay in costume as a form of humiliation. To showcase that despite their flashy costumes and gear they still ended up in jail like any normal criminal.
So I never understood why they let the inmates wear their costumes in Arkham.
It's more the writer/artist's discretion. I think since it was a GL book, they wanted GL fans to know it was the Scarecrow and they wouldn't be wondering who this Crane guy was based on the small door tag. In most Batman books, the inmates rarely have costumes unless they are going for the 'hey look at this super villain!' effect.
Also, he kind of loses his costume when the GL's come in. It's only the mask and some prison clothes then.
I take it I'm the only one that really disliked the last issue of Y? I'm of the mind I would have preferred it ended at #59. The only thing I found remotely interesting in the issue was Yorick escaping at the end and the 355 flashback. I expected a time skip, but I thought it would be a lot different than what we were given. Maybe I just expected / hyped this up too much to myself.
I mean, first he sends Teth on this quest to recover the pieces of the amulet...then swaps out Isis' bones for Ralph Dibny's. Then he tricks Teth into believing that he failed by using up too much of Isis' power, and then walks off with the mans lady after he blew the hell out of there!
No. He. Friggin'. Di'int.
I mean, we pretty much knew the eventual outcome, but still. Sick burn.

really?
That's what he uses to instill suprise attack and fear into the scarecrow?
yeah, I guess I just didn't notice what they were the first go-around.
okay, it's a little better now.
Wasters, it's nearly get outta work time here!
I'm posting in a European time zone and I approve of the timing of this post :^:

I assumed it had something to do with trying to reach them without triggering denial.

the last page gave me fuzzy feelings
It was Cap 34 (the whole issue) in case you were wondering.
I literally yelled out "Oh, Shit" as soon as
And timing it for as soon as the TV cameras are running? Priceless.
Like I said, I assumed (there's the problem right there) it was obvious. But that is stupid of me.
All of it, every last goddamn page.
Anally.
seriously i haven't read a better comic this month, let alone most of last year
What a perfect ending.
called it
