remember when you guys came to MIT and spoke?
Audience: When are you going to going to bring PAX to the East Coast?

Gabe: 2008, right now, I think that's the projected date.

Tycho: Yeah, we're totally going to do it, in fact, we've been thinking about somewhere around here.

i'm poor. and i'm lazy. i also have a hard time getting vacation from work in the summer. and east coast PAX would help me with the first two.

edit: originally titled "East Coast PAX 2008- The Broken Promise" for sensationalistic properties. has since been neutered by ethers of the internet.

I don't think an East Coast PAX is coming for a quite some time yet. Sorry to disappoint.

You could try the Cross-Country Supertrip to get to Seattle on the cheap, but that will require about a week to eight days of vacation time.

Wasn't that talk 3 years ago?

Also, the key word there is "projected" date.

I think an East Coast PAX will probably happen, or at least a PA sponsored event. It likely won't be on the same scale as Seattle PAX, but I think it will happen. I don't think they'll move PAX so much as create a sister event of smaller scale.

    If I were a betting man I'd bet on 2009 or 2010.

    You heard it here first!

Heh. Like everything in this country, it started in the East and moved to the West because it was better in the west,

Ya know, you're now going to make me watch the Press Q&A with G&T AGAIN to get the quotes they said last year about the E-PAX.

As an east coaster who went to the first PAX, that one was worth the effort, this one will be too. I'm all for an East Coast PAX, but not if its a PAX lite.

I really hate I missed the epicness of last years, especially since I had been wanting to go back for a while now. Thats okay though, I got my tickets, and I if you book early enough in advance the flight isn't too bad.

The best thing I can see from an East Coast PAX is the possibility of a CCST going the other way, for poor me living in Seattle

So are people going to come here complaining that PAX on the moon didn't really happen in 2027 (or whatever year they projected it to occur).

That would be awesome. Admittedly, I'd love to take a CCST to the east coast for PAX. That would be a blast.

Man, I don't want PAX to be anywhere else. I already have plans to move to Seattle, and PAX being there is such a highlight to that decision. I can only imagine how it must feel to be able to attend PAX for only $40 instead of, like, $1,040.
