(Also, at the same time, you have to ask why all specs don't work in the arena, and really, I'd rather lose some playstyle options than go through a wave of rebalancing and nerfing and class tweaking and boring, hassle filled annoyances than be unable to spec survival for 2s)
Well, when you say losing playstyle options, that means a lot of people, if they want to pvp and succeed, are forced to respec every time they switch from raiding to pvp(and get an entirely different set of gear, rather than a partially different set of gear for resilience). For many people this could be 3 or 4 respecs every week.
Easier fix: remove the fucking gold cost for respecs.
Well, no hunter build is as good for PvP as it is for PvE (I guess a BM 5s build), but even if I was Marks for raiding, I'd still have to respec to a different Marks build to have that edge in PvP, and most classes have to do this. If they're respeccing that often they either have to:
A) Farm gold Try to form a schedule so that they're PvPing for one period of time a week (Like I do!)
D) Be less efficent in either PvE or PvP
You're a hunter, and that's great, but what about shamans, pallies, and druids?
Resto druids have to respec for PvP, or they're gimp in PvE, same for Feral, no idea for Moonkin.
Holly Pallies I have no idea, seems like they could wing it. Retadins do, and Protadins are for Arena.
Don't know about Shaman.
Now, if the question is "Why can't they walk in as any of the three trees with talents distributed so they're effective in PvP," well why can't any class do that?
Swiftmend. My druid is only lv 20, and even I know that :P.
That's the one!!
I was hardcore resto back at 60 for ZG/AQ20/MC/BWL, but went Feral for levelling to 70. I hit 70, spec'd resto again (as I figured a good little healing capable alt should), got tired of groups with 1 healer and 3 dps saying that they needed a tank, went feral and never looked back.
I miss druid healing.
I really do.
I just like getting groups together more.
This is why my druid rarely does instances.
Druid healing sounds like 10 kinds of awesome.
It's practically cheating and I don't see how people fuck it up.
In PvP or standard PvE, I have no idea how people fail at it. But in heroic/raid PvE, it's actually the most difficult brand of healing, because you need to accurately predict the course of the fight over the next 10-15 seconds at the least. Otherwise you could be wasting a lot of mana on overhealing and would have to drink after every pull. If someone -- healer, tank, or DPS -- has to hold up the group to drink after any reasonably sized pull, they have failed their role. Non-Druid healers have a much harder time failing like this, since their heals are primarily responsive or reactive, as opposed to the Druid's, which have to be primarily preventative to account for the stupid amounts of incoming damage which HOTs simply cannot counter if they are cast after the damage hits. This is only in heroic/raid PvE though; otherwise the incoming damage is not so ludicrous as to require preventative healing from any healing class.

Feral is just plain terrible spec to PvP with, no matter how you spend your points. Same with Enhancement.
Restodruids can use the same spec for PvE and PvP: the only thing I really lose with a 8/11/42 spec is HT related skills (and when I have 41 or more points in Resto, I don't use HT anyway) and 15% spirit. Hardly game breaking.
Moonkin pve vs pvp is retardely frustrating. There's literally like a 3 point difference in specs, and not changing those points completely gimps you in one facet or the other.
Edit: Checking out my sig I realized I haven't leveled my warrior since she dinged 68 about a month ago. What is it that I can't stand about warriors? >_<
Want get 70 plzkthnxbai
Um... possibly that fact that you're specced into both Arms and Fury, and a deep Fury DW build is 1 bajillion times more efficient and effective and fun, for leveling? Just sayin'
Also, on 2H enhancement shammies... those 2H windfury procs with all crits are exceedingly rare. Most Enh Shammies prefer DW even for PvP these days, and with good reason. The burst damage is still ludicrous.
I used to be all arms, then after the talent switching I took this build because someone recommended it.
I seem to be doing allright though I know it could easily be better.

Honestly, I'd be happy if they let us have 2 separate specs, with a 5 hour cooldown, or something. Done raiding for today? Open up your talent window and click the "Alternate" button. Next day, time to raid again... "Alternate." This would save a lot of people a lot of money. A lot of money. You'd think Blizzard actually makes a profite for every gold we pay for respecs/vendor items/etc.

Yeah, I've been thinking the same. I liked how it worked in Planetside: you could free up a certificate (think talent for unlocking gear/vehicles), and then it starts counting down until the cert is removed and you can place it elsewhere. Took 4-6 hours or something.
I thought they removed it, and you couldn't remove another until that counted down? Or did they change that? Or did the fact that I've only played it as a trial twice leak (It was fun, but I just had trouble finding action)
(Yes, you can make a sexual innuendo with that)

But my whack whack whack is what I... ok sir.
Honestly, you owe it to yourself to try it out. It really is like playing a completely different class. My 64 Warrior is prot right now, because 6 of my guildmates have alts around the same level. Man, warrior tanking is hectic! Probably didn't help that my first ever experience tanking was Ramparts....
Yeah I wish they'd let you have 2 specs that you could alternate between. On top of being incredibly nice for pve vs. pvp, it's also nice just for raids vs. soloing. You'd have a lot less healers and tanks complaining about a lot of stuff. And you'd still have to farm the gear so all it does it save you some respec costs.

I'll give it a shot tonight, but my main concern is finding 2 good one hand weapons that I like and meeting minimum +hit requirements.

I really wouldn't mind if the ability to have a second spec became the WoLK equivalent of epic flying at level 80; I really dislike that I can't do anything on my warrior without 4 other people, or without levelling another character.

You can get 2 of Footman's Longswords from the Honor Hold vendor if you're Honored (which you should be). They are blue, but a tiny bit too fast for my liking, and quite possibly a little too low for your level. AH greens should be fine.
HATE: The slowly-dawning realisation (see raid thread) that we may in fact be carrying an awful lot of people; DPSers, who up till now have flown under the radar a bit. I hope they can be coaxed into improving, because recruiting right now is nontrivial.

This is why I think active and helpful class leads are a must. Even if you don't point anything out to individual people, a post on the forums about hunter talents and a blurb saying "Spirit Bond is awful and horrible" might save a lot of trouble from the get go.
Happy: Oh man, running with a raid group thats not full of undergeared idiots is so good. We did all of SSC aside from FLK and vashj in a pretty reasonable amount of time, and I got the cloak off of tidewalker and the leather resto piece since no one else wanted it.

Oh man, after putting my prot paladin on the shelf for a while, I rediscovered the joy of tanking. Oddly enough, by tanking AV.
By that, I mean tanking the two patrols before SPGY, the guards at the graveyard, two warriors and a rogue at the same time, and outlasting all of them, then tanking the guards at aid station along with all the base npcs, then tanking Vann for a win (well, partially tanking, a warrior a druid and I were swapping aggro back and forth).
Then I tried again, this time there were no players at SPGY, and the warriors were happy to break out their two handers and druids go cat and let me work.
Happy: Re-discovering the joy of leveling a new char on a new server. My Blood Elf Rogue is 38, and i've been leveling her whenever i have the time. Feels like the good old days of leveling my first char 2 & a 1/2 years ago.
Frustrating: Being obsessive-compulsive when it comes to having a mount. I will not be 40 without a mount for longer than it takes to get to the trainer. Because of this, i've been running SFK solo for the past week alot.
Surprised: I've gotten a few upgrades from there. Both my weapons and my shoulders. This is either damning of my gearing till now, or it proves how great those instance improvements have been.
Unplanned: So we're going to start 25-mans on Sunday, our first Gruul's Lair run scheduled for then. And one of our holy priests is delayed coming to Kara tonight, they're helping out some guild in Tempest Keep. Then they announce they're joining a guild with a more convenient raid schedule. I'm sure the fact that the guild they're joining is 6/6 SSC 3/4 TK is immaterial....

Frustrating: My friend's decided to go paladin this time. I've been helping him out with talents and he keeps asking questions like "Don't Parry and Reckoning do the same thing?"
in the Dept. of Happy: last night Void Reaver 1 shotted and I win a roll on one of the T5 tokens.
in the Dept. of im still floatin': headed to Solarian, also 1 shotted and the only other Resto. druid passes his chance on the Etherium-Life staff to me...i crush the Priest in \roll 86-16....
negative.....the class leaders decide on which of the 'Raiders' gets to roll....i was still sporting Wild Growth Spaulders out of the Molten Core with the sexy ZG exulted shoulder enchant.
he had just gotten Light's Justice last week, and I was sporting a Neth.mindblade that was won during a 'everybody roll for this dagger' as a joke roll when I first joined 2 months ago.....

We need you for FLK.
Get to it.
The story of my life.
no no, I didn't get to raid as ret.
I'm stating that someone here should let me raid ret.
I don't raid either you know. These heroic items (well, only the one) I got from a double Cot heroic run.
