I am this close to buying DKC2 on VC despite already owning it on a cart.
This sounds very Sakuraba-esque, but there are also flavors of Mitsuda (assuming my fever-hazy mind isn't deluding me). Do we have a list of what composers did what songs yet?
I hear a lot of Mitsuda in it myself. In fact, it kinda gives me a Chrono Cross vibe.
Don't feel so much Sakuraba, though. Not enough synth to be today's Sakuraba :P
Edit: Than again, it wouldn't be the first time he's surprised me in this soundtrack.
The Olimar in that Olimar vs. Yoshi video is completely incompetent. He throws his Pikmin willy-nilly and doesn't seem to understand that he should be using every spare second he gets to restock.

Michiko Naruke composed Stickerbrush, actually. She composed for the Wild Arms series and did the Ocarina of Time Medley.
Edit: at 1:32 specifically is her trademark style.

It's like they were battling to declare what character was the worst.

Oh god, seconded. I was practically losing my mind watching him launch Yoshi, then go leaping off the stage after him with only two Pikmin. And you'd think he'd realize sooner than spawning more with his back right against the edge resulted in them falling to their death.
To be fair, he's by no means a second-nature character to a Melee player, as it's looking like Wolf is.
In other news, R.O.B. down air looks like an absolutely wicked spike.

I didn't pay attention to the Yoshi-player much, but considering that he had as tough a time with Olimar as he did, I'd agree.
From watching him, Olimar seems to have some very important rules to follow if you want to win with him. One is that you have to use Pluck every chance you get, just like Samus and DK have to constantly get a few seconds of charge in with their B attack. Another is that you shouldn't use his Side B for anything but a finisher, because it's damage isn't worth the danger it puts your Pikmin in.

Thanks man. Been trying to find the LeeHaris vs Marcus video everywhere.

More to the point, I'd say you don't try to edgeguard using side B. The whistle seems to work quick enough to allow for some use, provided you're not just tossing them off the edge.
My concern with the whistle is that it looks like you can get rocked while using it. And, your Pikmin can get attacked more easily when it's running back toward you.
Yoshi uses some aerials on Olimar's Pikmin when they're "attached" to him, and it didn't do anything to them. I am 90% sure that if you're Pikmin stick with you they can't be harmed.

I wonder if you have pikmin stuck to you and you do a downward slam from the air if it'll knock them off?
I can't wait to play this game.. I don't even know where to start, and who to play as anymore.. There is just too much awesome, and you can never have too much awesome.
Man, I just watched that Toon Link vs. ROB battle. ROB is BRUTAL.
The one negative impression I get is he's a bit limited in his range of motion...basically, when he's attacking in a certain direction, he's attacking only in that direction, and could be rather vulnerable since there are places he's not hitting where he can be hit from.
So where as characters in brawl generally have less laggy moves than they had in melee, having equal or less lag on their airials then they did when L-cancelling in melee, Ganondorfs moves now have more lag than they did un-canceled in melee.

He has insane pushback though. I watched him hit a shielding falco and blow him way out of range to throw him before the lag was over.
Dangit, three days after the first leak and I already know all the characters and have seen all the stages. I got to stop somehow or else I'll have nothing to discover when the game comes out, all I have pretty much now are just event matches and SSE. The latter of which, although I accidentally ran into reading the ending plot twist by accident, I've managed to avoid watching any movies that came after the Rayquaza fight (which were posted before release).
So... maybe I'll be able to cut down on the gameplay videos I watch? I'm going to avoid any Olimar ones myself, so I can experience him and all his glory in my own time. And maybe limit to one or two new videos a day... or something.

So did I. But it's the only time I've seen him land a forward air on any shield. There isn't any telling if that pushback is wholly a property of Ganondorf or if it's caused by Falco's weight and traction.

That thing about Lucario's damage sounds fantastic. The more I hear about him, the more I want to play as him.
It's just too bad that Toon Link seems to be the same as Young Link. Despite Zelda being my favorite series (and WW and MM my favorite entries), the way the various incarnations of Link have always controlled in the Smash games never seems to "click" for me.
Oh well. Looks like I'll be stuck with Lucario/Trainer/possibly Olimar.
you know, I wanted Lucario in, and he plays pretty much how I'd expect him to, but now that here's there I'm not all that interested in him. He just seems so... blah. Especially compared to the quirky guys like Snake and Olimar.
Hey dude, that post is totally against the rules of conduct of this forum.
To be fair, loads of people have been posting links to downloads of the music from the game, albiet in 20-track RAR files. But that's no better than this; just this has it all in one place. Fanmade rips suck anyway, hope they release an official OST.

I kind've assumed that since links were being thrown around (even in the OP) of music, that it would be OK to inform people that the complete soundtrack is available. If you're referring to my mention of bittorrent, eh, it's a protocol, live with it.
Is downloading game music illegal?
I'd guess it goes by the "Its fine if you have the game" standard, but I'm not sure if theres some sort of other copyright issue that would allow free distribution.

I want to see the returning stages from Melee.
This is all you need to know: Jungle Japes returned, but Fountain of Dreams didn't.
...
Interesting.

So 200 is the new 9000?

Might want to check your favorite bittorrent site and get on it.
(314 tracks!)
