So, i just started reading the series...well..I am a little more than halfway though "A Game of Thrones" and is loving every minute of it. I also just found out that there is a game for it! I know I know...this is old news to a lot of you, but its every exciting news to me.

Anyways, I was just wondering if any of you knew of any other games that is based on fantasy novels, and would recommend it for a good time.

I can only be who I am, but how I can be what I do not know?

The ASOIAF RPG done by Guardians of Order is fantastic in my opinion. A really damn good book. Pity it was their last product. I don't know about the board game, but it has received favourable reviews.

As for other book series, there is an RPG based on The Wheel of Time, one for Amber, and I'm sure that there are more, just that I'm ignorant of them. Anything specific you're looking for?

If this ever becomes an interest check for the Guardians of Order RPG, consider me interested.

    A long shot, I know.

Any game based on A Song of Ice And Fire that did not kill at least nine out of every ten really interesting fun characters would disappoint me, I think.

There are a lot of themes in that series, but the one that sticks with me the most is "If you like someone, they are guaranteed to die a horrible, painful death, usually after watching their entire world crumble before them and suffering the greatest mental anguish imaginable."

I'd be partial to a PbP game of GOO AGOT.
The game I was GMing in reality ground to a halt in the middle of many different plots, intrigue and proto-betrayals due to work and uni getting in the way for all the plays and myself, making it impossible to get everyone together at the same time/

    Oh...I don't know...
I think I am mostly interested in games based on fantasy novels...

But honestly, I really think that any opportunity for me to so call "live out" the novel in one way or another, I would think its pretty cool...

I remember when I was a kid, I used to play "Legend of the Red Dragon", a text based RPG on BBS systems, and pretend it was Lord of the Rings. I mean...its not even close, but that was as close as I could get back in the day.
