I won't participate in the drunken part but I will take part in the watching the movie part. I shall be the guiding light and make you people do bad things while you are drunk. It shall be a grand old time!

Thats not true, I extract pleasure from people making spectacles of themselves.

Okay, we'll go to a strip club.

if it comes down to it, i'd gladly go to whatever theater we're planning on and speak with the manager/owner to explain to them that we don't exactly intend on "turning off our cell phones." i'm sure i could get a closed show so nobody would complain, i can be pretty persuasive. just let me know.

Regarding Second-Run theaters (the discount ones): the only one I can think of is the Crest up in North Seattle. It's a good 45 minute busride away from PAX.
The Cinerama would definetly be the theater of choice. Give enough time to line up before the show (probably a half hour), and there should be plenty of room for everyone. However, they only show one movie at a time, decidedly limiting our movie selection.
An educated guess would say that the movie during PAX weekend could well be The Dark Knight, as it'll be out around that time and they generally show the big summer blockbusters (i.e., Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man 2/3).

This place does look freaking sweet though. Second run or not it definitely looks awesome. I really would prefer anything but being escorted out of a Mall by security.

And you got to see the look on the manager's face when six rows of people stood up and asked for a refund.
Check out the "Coming Soon" page at the Cinerama site.

Man, making a spectacle of yourselves and acting like dicks at a place like the Cinerama isn't cool. They're one of the few theaters in the US actually equipped to show 70mm films and other movies in weird aspect ratios. It's a place people go to watch and enjoy a movie, especially if it's a classic, not have it ruined by a bunch of drunks.

Oh, if it's a drunken good time, then yeah... we'd be better off terrorizing the Meridian 16 or Pacific Place. The Cinerama/Egyptian/Harvard Exit and the like are not for us.
And the Meridian 16 is a strong cough away from the Convention Center. And Gameworks is right below it. It couldn't be more perfect.

I'm no expert... but you should really talk to your doctor about that....
As for the topic at hand, while I liked that theater when I was there. It wasn't the cheapest thing around, and if there's a chance of getting kicked out. Then why pay 10 dollars for maybe 1/4 of the movie?

Regarding the worry that we'll go into some theater that the audience may not enjoy our mockery of whatever movie is chosen: Perhaps we could call ahead to the theater and give them an estimate of our group so that they can determine whether or not it would be beneficial for them to grant us a private showing of our own? Just a thought.

or, like i recommended, i'll go talk to the owner personally, to make sure they're ok with it.

Now that we are closer to August, here is a new list of August films from Wikipedia:
This may be a horrific idea, but going off of the whole rent-a-theater concept, what about the IMAX?
Yes the pacific science center is far away and the tickets are gonna be a bit expensive, but if The Dark Knight is coming out around then, it'll be on that BIG screen for sure. I have a feeling we could fill the place, and its super sound-proofed. Though I'm not sure how flexible they'd be on the late hours and general sobriety of the crowd.
i was taking asl (sign language) with my class at school anyways i think 300 was what it costed, we did this whole like setup where you didnt hear anything for like the deaf, it might have been more had we not been for the school or other things, i can go talk to them tomorrow?

i saw i am lengend at the imax and they had a clip for the dark knight......
FUCKING EPIC!
it was great bank robbers, and it was like 7 minutes and twist great!
so it will be on the imax for sure, if that is an option, i am down like a clown who wants to jump all around!
I would love to see The Dark Knight at IMAX at PAX, but would probably be up for going to see any film, I can always catch The Dark Knight at the IMAX in Manchester.
Sorry that this isn't really a suggestion, but I want to share something. Last week, I went to see Harold and Kumar Escape.... in theatres, and there was this trailer for a movie about three highschool guys who spend the weekend at a college (I think the movie is called "College"?). At the end of the trailer, the screen read:
"Best. Weekend. Ever.
August 29th"
And I thought to myself, "How very true".

I just want to throw out there that Repo! The Genetic Opera has Bill Mosely, Nivek Ogre, Sarah Brightman, Paris Hilton, and Joan Jet on the cast list all singing opera to industrial music. Now I'm sure some of the names are familiar you all, but if you're aware of all of them then you'd have to agree that this has got to be the biggest "what the fuck?!" moment in all of movie history.
im so down for this, and if we are looking for something funny and something we can easily make fun of, the Uwe Boll abortion that will be Far Cry looks easy enough. But if we want a good movie, Eli Roth's Trailer Trash looks awesome

a stoner action comedy......
there is fucking guns!
meridian 16 is ideal and i am SURE they can do private screenings no big deal (we did one last year)
if we get the name of the movie wanted, we can easily talk to them.....
That makes it sound like it might be quirky enough to be a good movie to mock.
You did the private screening with a separate group then?
This may be a horrific idea, but going off of the whole rent-a-theater concept, what about the IMAX?

ohhhhhh i forgot about that. though there's two things to it:
1) Not sure how late the service runs (as in, could it get us all back at 3 am?)
2) The monorail is ALWAYS breaking. Its function only about half the time, so it's not the most reliable.
otherwise i'm totally game
I like that idea. Makes the IMAX more... palpable.
