The matches will be 5-stock battles, with a seven minute time limit. All items will be turned on, medium frequency, and stages will be set to random.(Yes, be prepared for possible Rumble Falls.) In the Doubles Tourney team attack will be turned on.

Between March 9th and March 23rd(Earlier if you are Japanese, I guess.) all participants must PM two things to me: 1) Your SSBB Friend Code and 2) The two characters you will want to play as(More on this in a bit).

Every participant will be sent their opponent's Friend Code(s) the day prior to the match, so you have 24 hours to add them. It's up to you whether or not you want to keep it after the match, of course.

As for the characters, I decided, after some thought, to enforce character selection. It will keep things more organized and will level the playing field somewhat. You have two weeks(March 9th-23rd) to play all the characters and feel which ones you wish to play as, once you've picked two, PM them to me. These two characters will be the only ones you can use in the tourney.

Okay so here's the layout I'm planning on using for my guide:

    Intro

    Techniques
-Basic Techniques (Directional Influence, Toadstool Jumping)
    -Advanced Techniques (Reverse Jumping, Foxtrotting)

    Characters
    -Character name, picture
-Index of all 17 of Character's moves and the damage they deal
    -Character-specific techniques
    -Tips on playing Character
-Maybe a fun fact or two

Repeated 35/39 times, depending on whether or not multiple characters in one get multiple entries (they probably will).

Different Ruel Sets, including stage ban lists, the current competitive tier list, and hopefully the list of legal items.

Cool Videos of forum fights and other awesomness (the finals of big tournaments, or for instance that Wolf vs. Falco vid will be there initially)

Anything that I need to add that the OP doesn't already cover?

I'm doing several Brawl-related things to occupy my time.
First up was getting almost all the trophies in Melee.
Then I moved on to collecting figurines in Wind Waker...that's boring as shit and I already missed one of the missable ones so I'm probably going to be moving on to F-Zero GX very shortly.
Assuming I don't get too frustrated with the insane difficulty, that should keep me busy for a while. If not, well I still haven't played Twilight Princess so I can just buy that.

If all else fails, there's always World of Warcraft.

I'm finding the Smash Boards forums kind of humorous in their search for advanced techniques. They've found a few unique tricks that even I plan on using, but nothing to indicate it's the treasure trove melee was. Fact of the matter is they have a much more solid code base now and a much stronger physic engine, and they've clearly targeted removing these things from the game.

Anyways, I guess given time they can still find something. Two years worth of game testing experience is making me pretty confident they're not going to, however.

I admittedly didn't dig too deep looking for stuff, but I remember seeing something about Pit having a "wing-cancel" similar to Peach's float cancel in the previous games. He activates his Up+B, then quickly uses an aerial and hits the ground I think. Or somethin' like that.

What all are they finding other than foxtrotting and reverse-jumping?

I admittedly didn't dig too deep looking for stuff, but I remember seeing something about Pit having a "wing-cancel" similar to Peach's float cancel in the previous games. He activates his Up+B, then quickly uses an aerial and hits the ground I think. Or somethin' like that.

There's some other stuff called Fake Jabs that involve shielding during a second jab and allows you to break into either another jab, tilt, smash jump, grab or roll. Ike can use it best, which is really the only reason I looked.

Okay, so we're mostly talking character-specific stuff, rather than general techniques?
