Enough with the furries, fuckers. Skaven have nothing to do with them. At all. Dammit.
Says the Skaven lover.
Absolutely no-one here should not be a Skaven lover. Not only are they, by a country mile, the best race in the Warhammer universe, they're up there for best high fantasy construct since Tolkein's days.
Beastmen of various kinds form the bulk of the army. Beastmen are humanoid, with a variety of animal features, usually including cloven feet, horns, excessive body hair, and bestial faces.
lol, I always thought beastmen were mutated and zerg-like, not furry. That's what you get for not paying attention to your fellow servants of Chaos.
EDIT: Also, what side of the Destruction/Order divide are people interested in playing? I find the Witch Hunters' hat to be too awesome to resist, but I hear the class currently sucks.

Jesus I just read some of the character profiles for the disciple of khaine and shadow warrior. I like how they think about their game mechanics.
I never had the privilege to play any other mythic mmo (DAoC right?) and the graphics are good enough for me to house that level of mechanics.
I'm seriously pumped for this now.

Honestly, balance is an unrealistic expectation before the first few post-release patches. A full player base will find so much more than beta testers.
I gotta say, I'm not really excited for this anymore. Chances are I'll get psyched when it gets closer to release, but honestly I don't really care anymore.

I suppose that's true, what you're saying about betas, but...[WoW-huntard rant follows]
...I remember what happened (or rather, what didn't happen) to hunters after WoW got released (I was in beta). It took a good 6 months before they got any sort of attention.
WoW's hunter only came in during the very last weeks of closed beta, they were hardly tested at all. Add to that the retards at Blizzard when it comes to balancing (they're really missing the bloke who ran off and made Guild Wars) and you're getting patches for balancing years after release.
I thought Paul said during an interview that he said that you could never get perfect balance so you were better off focusing on other things and only fixing those things that are actually game breaking. I think I prefer that over the constant balancing patches of WoW that end up nerfing everyone time after time.

Thats code for it a class dominates everyone and is imba, they will nerf it to fucking hell so its no longer a problem and wait untill the community explodes over the next imba class, rinse and repeat.

Yeah, I was pretty hyped for this game a couple months back, but after they closed the beta for a bit and the trickle of interesting info stopped, I stopped caring.
But if I break what I'm not bound to and they find out I may not be chosen for the beta, and I crave the change brought on by my short play time with a fervent lust.
I will say that I've now played two different starter zones and both of them felt alive. I don't want to over hype it but
WoWs starting areas <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Warhammer's
I highly doubt you would somehow be added to a "DO NOT ADD TO BETA LIST." Especially since you wouldn't be breaking any agreement you had with them (No NDA).
Tell me more of these awesome start zones. What helped them feel more alive than WoW's?
There is, like...War...everywhere.
Man, I want to just spill it all but really probably shouldn't.
Essentially it becomes rather obvious that the zone has a story to tell. A story that will arch through the various quests. There is something that needs to be done and, son, you are either going to do it or die trying. What I liked about it is the progression. You start on one end of the zone doing fairly easy quests that are designed to make you feel like you are helping with the siege effort from the rear but as you complete these you are moved closer and closer to the actual siege until you are pretty much the guy who brings the enemies world tumbling down.
There is an energy to all of it that makes it feel more alive, stuff is moving and going off all around you. The completion of many of the quests triggers a response from the world, like the firing of a cannon or the spawning of new allies. There is just a kinetic energy to all of it.

Moo.

When the expansion comes out with Skaven I'm making Riki Tiki Tavi
Man, it's closed beta. Trying to decide which class to pick based on current balance is absolutely insane.
dark elves to fuck everyone else up
and dwarves to fuck up dark elves
We can still speculate based on mechanics which classes will be more prone to be OP/underpowered.
We'll mark it down in the Imperial Log.
Anyway, Witch Hunter hats rock!

Fixed for fantasy.
I can't wait for them to drop Skaven in the expansion.
Very annoyed indeed.
Best possible MMO class ever, or best possible MMO class ever?
Yeah, I was pretty hyped for this game a couple months back, but after they closed the beta for a bit and the trickle of interesting info stopped, I stopped caring.
Now to decide: Zealot, Disciple or Black Guard. Or maybe Sorceror. Or maybe Chaos Magus if they are cool.
ARGH. Never has a game made me want to play so many classes. I even really want to give Arch Magus a shot.
except runepriest
Firstly, the name is actually Warplock Enginner, right? Doh, checking the GW site it is warlock engineer. Warplock sounds better IMO
Secondly, they use chaos energy-infused machines to fling green death at their enemies (and any allies standing too close).
How is that not cool?
I hope I get to use a warpfire thrower or a ratling gun in WAR sometime in the future :winky:
I'm not in the beta.
But I played it a bit yesterday at a friend's.
My frothing demand has increased 10 fold.
Which is to say it is awesome.
Kinda.
Seriously though, this needs to just come out already.
