I can't see myself bothering with a CE until I see all the in game heads. That and the art book are really the only things I would want. But I'm not sure I want them as much as I want $30.
EDIT: Fall ends on December 21st. I smell a holiday season grab.
Ugh, I hate delays, I hope it's worth it. Whenever I hear the term 'delay' I always think about Duke Nuk'em forever. Or Shadowbane. A game that looks great at first on paper, but due to being constantly pushed back either has to a) redesign the engine to fit the current standard of quality in gaming and being pushed back again and again, or b) look horribly dated by the time it's finally released.
I hope Warhammer does sticks to this date this time, I'm not too worried about it looking dated at this point judging from the screens I've seen!
I'm still cautious about pre-ordering the game. For one, I doubt I'd read the graphic novel (but the artbook is tempting). I don't think one head per gender/variation of each race will really matter to me, and I'm sure I'll find other titles. Finally, that disclaimer about only being valid in the US is just potentially annoying enough to make me wait.
I'm still stoked for WAR, but an extra 30 bucks (probably forty to fifty up here) isn't quite kosher.

I like the artbook, and the mini. That's pretty much enough to get me into it. But also:
All pre-order customers will receive:
RITTENBACH'S PORTABLE CAMP
Rest your weary soul and heal your wounds between battles.
I'm a Loremonger, so I really really really want that graphic novel. And the mini will look nice on my desk next to the Morrowind mini I got a long time ago. They can all fight with the Kangaroo Battle Beast that's been there forever .
The CE box itself just looks awesome. I think the there might be late-night battles between it and the WoW CE box.
I also wonder if the mini is going to come with actual TT rules so that it can be fielded.
Anyone here up for painting the mini in The Six Mouths style (whatever that means, heh)?
LIVE GAME HEAD START
Begin your adventures in the Age of Reckoning before the raw recruits arrive!
How exactly does stuff like this work? Will you get a pre-order code and then have to download the client, or will the game boxes ship before the servers actually go online, or what? I remember exis and I looking for the POTBS pre-order over Xmas break because he wanted the early-start thing, but we couldn't find them in stores until the launch date anyway...

I'm a bit confused. So it can be ordered online, but you don't get the beta access if you do that? And if you order from an actual store, they have to actually have the slip of paper with the special codes on it, right? (Which they don't seem to know anything about over here.)

I imagine the client will be downloadable early, for those who have a code to d/l it.
The Beta towards the end will nearly be "open", so they'll have to have a client download for that. You'll probably be able to enter the pre-order code into that client to transform it into a Release Client.
Hmm okay, I am looking at the preorder page in the EA store. Though I'm a little dubious since it doesn't specifically say on that page that you'll get beta codes.

My CE pre-order is done. Though I'm not sure the early access is part of online orders though EBstop. Though you get next day shipping with them for 9 bucks and its 15 for 1-2 day shipping through the EA store. I may switch pre-orders for the open beta and early bird access. Also, do any EBStops carry PC games anymore? I know the ones in the California Bay Area sure don't. Too bad Fry's isn't doing pre-orders I'd much rather give them my business.
I would comment on the delay, but it would be impossible for me to say anything that wouldn't be tainted with my knowledge of beta.
So I'll comment on the CE.
I don't really mind the XP bonus item, It only lasts for 180 minutes and then disappears. What I *do* mind is the unique heads and graphics/quests and those healing/buff items that do not appear to run out.
Spending resources on making new graphics assets and then only giving them to the CE purchasers is one step removed from selling "downloadable content" by paying to unlock it from the retail disk. So long as this bonus stuff isn't that substantial (the books and miniature, along with the head start and beta access are MORE than ample by themselves) I won't be too upset.
No luck at local GS #1. They didn't have the preorder cards, and when I asked to preorder it, they told me "We're out of stock, you should've preordered it." I then informed them that the game doesn't come out until fall, and that I was trying to preorder it now.
I can't seem to preorder from EA's store either, because a window pops up that says "Before we can add this to your cart, please choose blah blah blah", and there's nothing for me to choose. This is frustrating as hell.
Sometimes I wish the people applying to EBStop were required to go into a room with a one-way window and be asked questions about games while hooked up to a machine. Every time a wrong answer is given they get to have an out of body experience thanks to a nice electric jolt.
I'mma need to hit up that GSTOP after work.
I have regular edition pre-ordered, and I have a CE slip, but I needs me the actual CE.
Hopefully they're allocation isn't filled up all ready. If it is...I guess I'll have to go to one of the three other EBStops in town. Or wait for Best Buy to get the pre-order since I all ready have a CE slip. Hmmmmm.

I hosted all of those images on my photobucket if you want to put them on the OP for newbies.
I wonder if we'll be able to get the head start/open beta invites, or if that's US/instore only.

Also, has anyone seen official news of the delay, or just the news site speculation? I'm too busy working to sift around.
I heard of some people already preordering it, no word on if they get the head start stuff since I don't know where they're ordering from.

I do wish it came with a soundtrack cd but other then that I am defently ordering it today.
I am on it.

Has anyone here actually ordered online from Gamestop and can confirm that they did indeed get the codes emailed to them?
Amongst other things.

Unless I'm missing it.
One would hope
I see... thank you.
I called Gamestop this morning and they said they would start doing CE preorders today, so you shouldn't have a problem.
Hopefully people don't rush out and preorder all of them at my Gamestop before I get off work

Sorry, I know it sounds harsh but I'm scarred
You also can't "upgrade" a preorder to CE over the phone.
