I searched as best I could and don't see a thread on this game. Which is telling.
I'd really like to hear from people who have it - not just people who've played the demo, but people who've played more. I know that's probably a small sample size. The game's gotten bad reviews, bad word of mouth, the demo didn't create much excitement, the game is overpriced, etc.
Despite all that, I've played through the demo two times and I really
like it. There are things about it that suck, and I can plainly see them. It's not perfect. But I can't get the urge to go buy it out of my head. I like the art, the music, the setting, and collecting loot.
Who has it? Are you glad you bought it? Does the story make more sense in the full game than it does the demo?
I know I'll probably see it in a clearance bin for $20 in a matter of months, but man...I want it now.

Honestly... it's awful. Seriously and terribly awful.
Everything about it. Characters' combos are terrible (for the most part), and are easily interrupted by a single arrow or spell from one of the several archers or mages present in every battle.
The story, and the voice "acting" that accompanies it, is laughable.
In is extremely unenjoyable to play single-player, and only really enjoyable in multiplayer if you get together a good group (we did, and played until 3 AM one night, because we were having fun).
I am trading it in today for what I am sure will be almost nothing, and putting it towards Culdcept Saga. It will not be missed.
Seriously, just stay away from this game.
but yeah, bad game. Not much else to say above RedMage's post
Me too, that's why I got it. Out of 10 I'd give it a six. It's ok if you really get off on this type of game like I do. But it's just ok. Not worth 60$
the weird thing is it doesn't seem to have achievements at all.
Yeah. But the last........ 4-5 stages were terrible. And, as RedMage said, I didn't enjoy it one bit. The ONLY saving grace on the game is the music, and the fact that RedMage (and Veraga from time to time) was in there with me. Otherwise I'd avoid it at $60.
If it's in the clearance bin for $20, and you have absolutely NOTHING to play... Then I'd probably suggest picking it up. But yeah... With so many good games out there, this might be one to avoid at $60.
Cause if you did and still hated COD then I have little hope for it.
Interestingly enough, if you read the credits you'll see alot of special thanks that involve WoW guildies and shit. That would explain the 'do these five sections on end in the hopes that something better drops so you can do these same five sections faster' aspect of the game.
why is there a boulder sitting in front of Baldur's Gate?
What am I a seismologist? I have no idea how it got there.
It promptly went back into the evelope and back to GameFly, what a waste of 20 mins playing and the week and a half mail time :x
Rhombus of Terror!
Parabellum of Mystery!!
If only someone had been there for me. If only I'd tried harder.
If only I rented dubious titles before shelling out six sawbucks for 'em! Truth be told, I rented this game and enjoyed it a bunch for a week.
Week 2: Utter Contempt
I was about to ask where in Alaska you lived but I realized I have a bunch of old PMs in my box from you where we discussed this very thing.
But yeah, this game. I played the demo and I had no fun at all.
Seriously though, now that this sucky game is out, they can make a real Kingdom Under Fire, with swampwalkers and everything.
Please. For the sake of all humanity, do NOT buy this game. Do not wait till it gets cheaper, do not trade any games in, and please, PLEASE don't receive it as a gift.
A friend and I went through the game (again, against my will..... he wanted to beat the game since I beat it without him) and it, as always, started out just right. But after the first stage... Things start to get bad. It's like if you keep a dead body in your closet. The first few days it doesn't smell... But everyday from then after it gets worse.
That's what this game feels like. The smell of a dead corpse rotting in your closet.
I wish I was kidding. I really do. I really wish I didn't waste $60 on this game. I could have used that $60 to wipe my ass and slap it on my bosses face. I would have gotten much more enjoyment out of getting fired.
God I want my 6 hours back. (Yes, we spent 6 hours playing through the game.... And we quit on the last stage out of frustration. I thought the vain in my head was going to explode all over my couch. FUCK those archmages! Did they even test this fucking game? Or were they too busy playing WoW?!)
tldr; Do not play/buy this game. It is terrible, and I hope that this train wreck of a game can get erased out of my memory.
You'd be wasting your money worse if you bought this game over burning $60 with a lighter. I promise you.
Would have to say that it's not really worthy of a buy, so yea I agree (and yes I did buy it for full price...D:). The game is pretty much a grind, and a good chunk of the time I just find myself slowly walking around just using a ranged weapon to kill crap because whenever something gets close to me, my combo's/melee attacks ALWAYS get interrupted.
Also, Ice Maiden fight? Fucken lame. Keither fight (or however you spell his name)? Godamn impossible until you get higher difficulty weapons, or just get really lucky I guess.
What about that robot fight right before the Ice Maiden fight? Where he walks around shocking you, and laying those traps. So basically you spend 20 minutes trying to get up to him, and he just shocks you and runs the other way.
Plus the Ice Maiden fight runs a cool, crisp 5 FPS. Ugh...
The shocking wasn't really a problem for me. And the 'traps' are pretty easy to see, its just melted metal. Strangely, he didn't do that part when I beat him as Celine, he just kinda died. Fuck that stupid Balrog though. Just charging and not taking damage, he can suck it.
Yeah, when we fought him last night... He ONLY attacked me. He only charged at me, basically... He must have thought I was the only one there. So I ended up running around while he was charging at me, while my friend kept hitting him with his sword.
Took about an hour, because I was out of potions at about half way, so I had to run around to stay alive.
