Yay! Almost to the first appearance of
the big boss music. I think.
You know shit's going down when you hear such things.
Well, supposed to go down. Masa&Mune used to beat my ass something fierce when I was young and stupid.

Same here. I remember that fight just destroying me as a kid. Did it last week, all I could think was how foolish I was as a little one. Magus is still pretty epic, if not necessarily difficult. I think his music has a lot to do with that. It really makes that fight seem huge.

aww, SimBen sounds so tired doing this video.

We can wait! Rest up, and be exuberant while doing the videos! It's just not the same without that perky French-Canadian drawl

SimBen, I think the reason for this is that
you're so hardcore the fight was just too easy for you without the artificial difficulty of eating the wind attacks. Take that excuse and run with it. It's free.

Wow, I didn't know at all about Chrono Resurrection, looks awesome. The graphics are also a lot like Dragon Quest VIII for example, very sharp. Methinks the people involved just wanted to get hired in the gaming industry, it looked a lot like a demo tape. A lot of polish.

Hey, I just watched the newest chapter, this has always been one of my very favorite games and I'm loving watching you play it and comment on it, so I just want to say great job.

Also(although it's not really a spoiler I'll put it in tags because it's in the newest video:
Uh, were you serious at all about doing a Xenogears Let's Play, or was I just hearing things? Man, that'd be nuts, I don't know if I watch that one only because of all the text. Mind, I love that game too, although I didn't quite get very far in it the last time I started it, although I know I wasn't feeling well at the time, so maybe I'll try to continue it again at some point. Well now I'm just rambling.

Yeah, well I'm still kinda mulling it over, but it looks like I will. I'll only do the final decision once I'm done with CT, but I think I will. I know there's a lot of text in that game, but if there's one that could benefit from some hand-holding commentary, it's Xenogears. Plus the story kicks ass and I like it better than Chrono Cross (which some people suggested, which has almost as much text as Xenogears anyway).

But yeah. For now, Chrono Trigger. :P

That depends if you like reading. Do you like reading?

Do you like reading a lot?

Because seriously, for Xenogears I might just call the thing [Let's Read], or at least start calling it that when I get to disc 2.
It's okay though, 'cause I like reading.

Onto the backlog it goes. Near the top of the list, as it's one of the few games that I know where my discs are located. I'm owing myself a playthrough of FFIX and MGS3 first.

I love reading too, it's more like if I'm playing it again I'm saying to myself, "I know all this already, please for the love of god why is there no skip text button!" The first time I played though I had no problem with it, or the second time for that matter.

Eh, if you do it I'm sure I'll watch it because I'm a sucker for these things. And you're informative enough to make it worthwhile anyway.

I'm new by the way, not that it matters.

I'm on disc 2 of FFIX right now. I just got my original Playstation from my parents attic and my brother had bought FFIX after I moved out so I never got to play it. It's a lot of fun, I think I will actually finish it, which is more than I could say for FFVIII.

It's also awesome that I have to play my PS1 upside down for it to work. :P

If you end up doing Xenogears then I cannot recommend you do videos for the main bulk of the game. For boss fights, sure go ahead. Normal game though you'd have to be insane. There's so much reading, walking, random encounters, and annoying as hell dungeons (I'm looking at you sewers) that it would just drag everything down. It has to be done in screenshot form for the majority of the game.

I would like a video of you scaling "The Tower" though. What an awful idea for a dungeon that was.

I used to have a perfect setup of things to balance my PS1 on so that it could run upside down and have maximum ventilation. Those were the days. And yeah, I love FFIX. I hated VIII (still do), so for me, IX felt like a last throwback to the older-style FF/CT-era games. Even if Zidane is the worst thief in FF history.

Back to thread topic, I'm gonna have to say that SimBen needs to do
    The Fated Hour
at one stretch. It would be the most epic item-collection LP video ever made.
