That's just it, it worked for a while (I managed to view it all off of Google) but now it doesn't.
And Stage6 is back to giving me that same shitty error as last week when I try to upload.
There's a post on their forum that says the uploader is down while they work on it. I'm checking the New Videos page to see when it's back up. They really need to keep people informed of news better.
great so far, good commentary pretty witty, do you have any others? i havent watched all of CT yet but im up to i think #9....i never did beat this game i got past the 65 million bc and i think i stopped after that i have no idea why....heh i still havent beaten ff12.....i am stuck at galmore jungle with the tree thing that kills everyone with status effects...im awful at finishing rpgs....ever try doing breath of fire for snes or pc (i think #4 i have on pc, got half way through it as well)....

There's Mega Man 7, part of Gilder's Mega Man thread which shouldn't be too hard to find.
And awww, there's a good video hosting site. You're a good little Google, yes you are.
I can't be the only one here that always wanted to play it but could never find it. For this reason, I'm curious as to how horrible it truly would be to video the whole thing through. I must see this game, but I have no money and screw alternative means.
So I say hooks us up! Unless it's too insane.
---
Going to watch the latest video now. It wouldn't be too shocking if I had to post again afterwards.
You know, I think he might be right. Given the amount of dialog that exists in the game, do you REALLY want to take that many screenshots and type up that many descriptions?
Prove to everyone that a JRPG can be done video style! To streamline things you could: read all dialog with proper voice acting and only show off random battles once, then remove them whenever you encounter the same enemies again.

Well parts of it are definitely worth videoing - the anime FMVs, the bosses, some of the cut-scenes.
A lot of it is just long, long pages of text, though. But I dunno. I think I'll video the whole thing through anyway, because this current playthrough does reveal that it IS divided into many digestable chunks (unlike say, Xenosaga, which if I ever did a video LP for I'd just have to make one for each save point I reach, and some of them would be nothing but cut-scene).
Can't find it, though? It's a Greatest Hit. Last I checked, it could still be found new in stores (along with most of Square's other PS1 games).
Xenogears is not rare. At least if you don't mind a green strip on your case. It goes for 30 bucks new in most specialized stores (though probably not EBGames).
I have an original Xenogears that I bought soon after it came out. ;-) But my ex kept all my PS1 memory cards. It's like an episode of the Twilight Zone.
Well, I couldn't find it a little after it came out and heard how awesome it was. The point that I brought up later is that now I don't have money to spend on such things(although I think I will soonish. Yay!)

Regarding the last video:
Man, you have a gate to 600 AD! Maybe the dreamstone could still be found way back then, just like the Masamune was! Oh, wait, crap...they were using gold back then still--not red rocks. Dangit!
(Heh, I'm quite groggy right now and felt like playing along sort of)
Xenogears is not a video the whole way through, It's an immersive game most of the time. I was never bothered by videos in Xenogears. MGS has a lot of videos and few complain, because they're fun.
Xenosaga series however took a while to get the formula right and make the movies fun, so Xenosaga 1 had very noticable bad movies.
Xenogears is an 100 hour game. 80h the first cd, 20h the second cd. The second cd is horrible, but by that time you don't care.
Some parts of Xenogears are as boring as eating sand, while some are awesome. Flawed masterpiece indeed. It's a descent RPG all things considered, great story but you must play and finish it to get your full dose.
No video tonight? You can't possibly have better things to do on a Saturday night than play Chrono Trigger for the rest of us that have nothing better to do than watch you play Chrono Trigger on a Saturday night.
haha, im feeling sick as hell, so im watching his megaman thread ......i dont think there was real "beef" in those hotdogs...wait..i dont think theres been real meat in any hotdogs, ever.....
I work till 11 PM on every Saturday, and till 10 on Sundays (and I got class at 8 on Monday nights), so don't expect much on week-ends from me, sorry guys. I actually have more free time on weekdays. :P
And you know what was gonna happen tonight? I was gonna be part of a sweet as hell Rock Band party at my cousin's place, but her landlord had to complain, at freaking half past midnight (on a SATURDAY NIGHT), so we only got to do a song and a half.
But it's almost 2 AM, so there's not gonna be one tonight anyway. :P
God Xenosaga would be so tedious... but possibly funny to watch. Especially in the beginning where you have to just walk to the ship's bridge and it takes a whole freaking hour because you're interrupted every other step you take by stupid cut-scenes where Shion is being a horribly bad-voice-acted emo bitch about the Realians being just like people and Allen being awkward and stupid and also you get a billion stupid e-mails and not only that but you have to watch as the bunny slowly explains what an e-mail is and then you have to drill through stupid junk and arghargharghargh I DON'T CARE GOD.
Maybe I'll do it someday. It'd be somewhat entertaining.
Xenosaga is unique in that it's the only RPG series that's replaced random battles by random cut-scenes.
i meant to ask, what do you use to record, fraps? you have the microphone voice over (good microphone quality for the most part, headset mic i take it) and what do you use to edit? virtualdub?

Yeah, you know if this is the thanks we get for slaving day in and day out to manufacture these videos on a regular basis rather than your undying adoration and unending praise, then perhaps we ought to rethink what we're doing here.
I mean, me, honestly, I did all this for the chicks. Chicks dig Let's Plays.

That's cheating. Also very, very ghetto. Oh well, I guess if it works :P
I was thinking of maybe doing an LP, but I'd have to get everything sorted out, and I only have a headset, so I guess I'll have to find another way before I consider it >_>
Yeah but it's the dumbest way in the world and I'm not smart enough to tinker around with other things to make them work. The good thing about that method though is it's much harder for audio to get desynched since it's all on one track. I don't have to mess around with editing tools and such. That doesn't make it any less lame though.
ummm go to tools/options i think and there is an option if you run the wizard to pick your recording setup, you can pick speakers and microphone so you get much better audio from the pc/emulator from the directsound out as well as your mic...useful if you have headset mic...you can also choose stereo mix/etc ...just make sure mic boost is off in audio settings when picking speakers/microphone setup or youll get a nasty feedback
using mic pickup for hte game is very ghetto use speakers/mic settings

Camtasia, nothing but.
And I actually record on a shitty webcam mic. :P
I thought Square just had like a marsh-forest setting with a bunch of frogs and snakes.
Though I await eagerly when Frog isn't such an emo prude.

Just for? Are you trivializing my entertainment?!
And SimBen, you need to call in sick on Sundays to make it more bearable for me with some hot CT LP action.

Edit: Unless... are you just having the audio output from the speakers, and you're picking it up with your microphone?
Now you know all my secrets.

At least, I assume that's how Gilder was doing it.
