Simben, what you may be able to do for audio is record the game in Camtasia and use that to just pick up the game audio, and then use separate recording software to record your voice, and then splice those together with, well, probably with whatever software you used to record your voice. Of course, then that leads to desynching problems which you may not want to bother with. Might be worth a test at least.

As I said in my post, you can't record from multiple sources at once in Windows. This is a system-level setting, so if you're set to mic, you can only record from the mic, if you're set to "line in", you can only record from "line in', etc.
So you need two computers.
Though I just had a clever thought. If you have a fancy sound chip/card (and you might), see if you can record from the "What You Hear" stream in 3rd party app like Audacity. This, in theory, should pick up what you hear out your speakers, which should be both the game and your mic. It's worth a shot, at any rate.
I think that the original phrase was "let's blow this joint," a drug reference.
"Joint" was slang for a place of business before it was slang for a marijuana cigarette. Likewise, blow is used for it's slang meaning "to leave." In other words, "let's leave this place."
Also, I think you guys are overlooking a low-tech solution to the audio problem. Couldn't you plug one of those headphone splitters into the mic in and then run both the microphone and the tv sound through that? I'm pretty sure they make adapters if your tv doesn't have a headphone jack.
the reason vista bitches is because you are running as an admin with UAC on...either turn UAC off via the Users control panel or run as a regular user (which you should be doing anyways!) vista is built more like linux in the fact that it only asks for login/pass when making system wide changes...of course its going to bitch constantly when youre logged in as admin trying to do everyday tasks, its like running root for everyday things on linux!
a little offtopic but you mentioned it in your video! :P

It shouldn't be pestering me at all, though, that's the thing. If I'm admin-logged, I'm supposed to be fully aware of the awesome power and responsibilities that gives me, and I am (I'm about to get my tech degree in computer science for chrissake). The system is supposed to let me do whatever I want without whining about it, because that's what admins do. Admins have full control over everything, regular users have limitations - that's the way it worked before, and it worked fine. Vista just assumes that your regular joe-computer-user is completely clueless and will log in as admin and wreck shit up. I say these people deserve their misfortunes, but apparently that's not Microsoft's position.
Oh well, UAC is now disabled, which makes the experience a lot less annoying. :P
i know admins should know what they are doing but vista half passes and half fails, it turns UAC on by default, fine, but goes on to make the default user an administrator....which means it immediately starts nagging, left hand not talking to the right!
Hmm I like this chapter, you showed off some pretty cool techs... The problem was I could hardly hear the music, which I don't like because the music is somewhat the best part of Chrono Trigger... So I hope you find a solution:)

There are actually two levels of administrator account on Vista
Default admin accounts don't actually have full control. Not automatically, anyway.
Go to the command prompt and make sure to 'run as administrator'
type: Net user administrator /active:yes
this will make a 'super admin' account that completely bypasses UAC and automatically runs any program as an admin
I'm gonna try cranking it to the max and plugging the headphones in next video. That might sound louder but more tinny because the mic is almost right next to the headphones (which I'll be wearing around my neck).

If you want to drown out your voice and go deaf, sure.
The TV out is coming at line level, which is a lot louder than mic level. The reason why there's separate line in and mic jacks isn't just because it's convenient, it's because the mic in has to amplify the mic.
The only way you can mix it is you have the a mic "pre-amp", which will amplify the mic for you and bring it to line level. Then you could mix it with the line input from where ever.
Problem is, like most real audio equipment, these are expensive.
Actually, I've heard it as "Let's blow this pop stand," before, which makes more sense ("pop" being a Northern slang for soda, "pop stands" do exist.) It may have started that way, and then had "sicle" appended to make more sense to normal people like me who think people that use "pop" are stupid.
Yeah! Everyone should have the same dialect, slang, and phrases!
Or maybe we'll call it pop and not give a fuck about what people call a damn carbonated soft drink.

We just call it a soft drink over here. :P

I guess you need to learn to take a joke? Or maybe I should apologize; I thought it was pretty clear that I was joking based on the absurdity of my remark, but perhaps I overestimated my clarity. Let me state here, then: it was a joke. I apologize. You are not stupid for using the word "pop."
But that's a digression from the OP: I can't wait for the next one Simben, if it's the one I think it is. It was interesting that you chose that particular team for Giga Gaia, though. I had much better luck with Frog in my party as healer. I forget who the third person is (I want to say Lucca but I'm not sure) but I had a pretty easy time with him. However, I didn't know that his attacks were elemental, so I never tried the vests or mail (granted, I've only played through once.) That probably would've made it even easier.

I think SimBen's doing really awesome on these so far! It's persuaded me to give Chrono Trigger another try. I like the game a lot, but the last time I played was years ago and I think the farthest I got was the second time you go to the Prehistoric era.
I was curious about the bucket the first time through though, and even though the guy tells you not to I examined it. The bad ending was ten kinds of awesome, I still have 10 more endings to see.
could Chrono Trigger end up being one of my top 10 favorite games? it just might
You should go back with the other save and see if the Nu does anything if you say yes :O
Also, wouldn't it make more sense not to use Falcon Hit against one enemy? Confuse did almost as much damage as that, and it only uses Crono...
I thought we'd already established that I am not smart.
I just checked what happens if I tell him it is Schala's pendant. He says "I hate liars" and then refuses to sell you anything forever. Guess that was a stroke of luck. :P
Quick and fun chapter. The whole thing with the Nu was the most interesting part. I'm pretty sure that I never tried talking to him either on my playthroughs.
Also, I'm loving your new rig. The audio quality on the last two chapters is a lot better. Everything sounds really clean with zero buzz. I'm also glad that you increased the game audio levels in this last one. The levels are pretty much perfect now. :^:
Great work on the newest videos, SimBen! Never knew that about the Nu either, though that does answer how you get some of those weapons I've never seen in other shops.
It's too bad Spekkio didn't work out, but you just hit the next form, so he's a bit harder than usual. As a little tip for the next time, you may not want to match characters with their elements' mails. Each character gets a slight resistance to their own element (I think about 20%, that's why Lucca wasn't healing as much from Fire), so you're better off protecting a different one.
Good luck with the Ocean Palace and getting over the cold!

I just watched this one. Short but sweet.
Does he really refuse to sell to you forever? I thought that if you leave the building and come back he asks again. It's been a long time though.
Edit: According to gamefaqs I am right, but what do they know :P
Dammit, just got to Magus's castle, got my ass handed to me by slash. Any tips? Party is Crono, Frog, and Marle.
Does Marle have protect yet? If so keep Frog casting heal and protect your party while Chrono attacks. If not just keep using heal with Frog and use Chrono for strickly offense. You should go all out since there is a save point in the near area.
Why use Marle for healing and magic at that point in the game when you can use Robo for Healing/Good Attack Power/Triple Raid? I guess the Magus fight is magic oriented, but I couldn't resist my first Triple Tech.
Also- I just arrived in Zeal, and I don't just want to look at a spoiler/walkthrough or have someone give me the answer, but perhaps an inspired hint? The guru's have secret rooms in the first two towns, and I assume that they involve those books that open with the elements, but I couldn't find lightning books in either town. Haaalp?

With that party, X-Strike with Crono and Frog and heal with Marle. Slash is almost completely immune to magic, so don't even bother.
Having Robo in there for Triple Raid would also be a good idea.
