Thanks everybody, I think I'm actually caught up with the LP by now. Man this game goes by faster than I thought it would. I think Lucca definitely has Protect by now, and my first Triple Tech was Delta Force, which I used to beat Giga Gaia (damn that was a hard fight. I don't use Robo much, I guess I just like Frog and Marle's characters better. I use Lucca and Ayla sometimes too. My characters are between lv. 30-32 right now, is that low level for this point?

The second time I played through the game, Giga Gaia whooped me hard. I don't know what happened. I don't remember him being that hard the first playthrough, and I don't remember grinding a lot or anything like that.
Great Let's play, I really enjoy your voices for the characters.
Also I've really enjoyed seeing how you do using these different party combinations.
I always stuck with the Chrono, Marle, and Ayla party on my frist play throughs because I love being fast, and hate having to use healing items. Plus it was the lowest level party I ever managed to beat Lavos with.
Fun Fact for your last video: Charm sometimes misses but that doesn't mean the boss doesn't have an item. Charm only has alike 50% success rate. That's why they give you Twin Charm, and that accessory that ups charm%.
I wonder why the best RPGs are all ancient... Maybe it's just because I like playing games from the days when graphics were side-lined to gameplay and plot... Though I'm most likely deluded in respect to this belief.
Maybe I should just go read a book.

Same here. My tactic was using Chrono, Ayla, and Frog. When the arms were up I'd use falcon hit (I think that is what its called), then when the arms were down and it was just his head I would hit him with spire. also slup-kiss worked really good when HP went low.
I am pretty damn talented, but I sure don't think I could manage to produce something that fantastic. "Awesome" isn't the right word, the closest I could come would be some combination of "nostalgic" and "ethereal".
Why use Marle for healing and magic at that point in the game when you can use Robo for Healing/Good Attack Power/Triple Raid? I guess the Magus fight is magic oriented, but I couldn't resist my first Triple Tech.
Also- I just arrived in Zeal, and I don't just want to look at a spoiler/walkthrough or have someone give me the answer, but perhaps an inspired hint? The guru's have secret rooms in the first two towns, and I assume that they involve those books that open with the elements, but I couldn't find lightning books in either town. Haaalp?
There is no lightning book. Only the wind, water and fire books.
Also since I saw this thread just two or three days ago I started a new game and I've been playing it obsessively.
I'm right before the big Lavos battle now (I've defeated the Black Omen in 1000 AD but I want to defeat it again in 600 AD and 12000 BC for extra item goodness).

Yeah I stumbled upon this a few months ago. I'd say it's the finest piano rendition of a CT song I've heard. He has sheet music and mp3s here. Check out his other videos too.

I wish I had musical talent... Or at least the patience to propagate musical talent... Damn you computer games for making me this way! ...I can't stay mad at you guys, you taught me to grind EXP...
Anyway, yeah, nice tune.

I always find it disturbing the amount of time and effort people are willing to put into making tunes on Mario Paint. It's fun, sure, but when you think about the number of hours it would take to make something like that you've gotta' wonder...

Psshhh, Simben, all you had to do was cast Haste on yourself, you could have saved so much time on your silly schoolwork by now
Unfortunately, my element is Lightning.
Even better. Call forth the mighty power of electromagnetic interaction of charge particles to zap those who would stop you from making more of the video.

Come on! You left it at a critical point, guy! If you don't get a new video up soon I might take down the SimBen shrine I erected in my room! ...But then, it is quite a conversation piece...

If you ever change your mind
About leavin', leavin' me behind
Oh, oh, bring it to me
Bring your sweet Chrono Trigger
Bring it on home to me, oh yeah
You know I laughed (ha ha) when you left
But now I know I've only hurt myself
Oh, oh, bring it to me
Bring your sweet Chrono Trigger
Bring it on home to me, yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah)
I'll give you jewellery, money too
And that's not all, all I'll do for you
Oh, oh, bring it to me
Bring your sweet Chrono Trigger
Bring it on home to me, yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah)
Yeah
You know I'll always be your slave
Till I'm dead and buried in my grave
Oh, oh, bring it to me
Bring your sweet Chrono Trigger

Damn. First time I got wiped out. I thought I would be a hot shot and try and go into Black Omen right when it opened up without C man, and that stupid first boss owned my ass. <sigh> Status ailments...
Simben, why didn't you use their corresponding magic on each of those Scouters? Fire 1 kills the red ones, Lightning 1 kills the yellow, and Ice 1 kills the blue ones.

I know Simben doesn't like to use magic, but those things were so clearly painful that I figured he couldn't possibly have just been doing it to be stubborn.

You seriously went through that place without using magic on them?
Good god, man!
They even colour code them for easy magic casting recognition!
