So in 2000 I bought a Dreamcast, enjoyed it, and purchased games for it long after it's death, into 2004 I believe. However, I did not purchase any other console of the Sixth generation beyond the Dreamcast, though I did purchase a Game Boy Advance in '01.
So, I missed most of the sixth generations games. Last year I bought a Wii along with a wavebird and a standard GC controller. Thus, I now have access to the entire library of Gamecube games. I already own a few, including Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, and RE4.
I come to you, good forum viewers, to suggest titles that I have missed. Keep in mind I didn't, don't, and won't be owning a PS2 or Xbox, so do suggest multiplatform titles where applicable.
Thank you for your time.

I'd say Smash Bros., but the new one for the Wii comes out in like a month so just sit tight for that.
Windwaker times one million.
I can't speak for it personally, but people seem to dig Chibi Robo. Also Fire Emblem.
Cubivore if you can find it.
Killer7 is kind of cool if you be patient with it.
Both Viewtiful Joes. Well, you can skip the second one.

Eternal Darkness - One of the best survival horror Lovecraftian games ever
Pikmin 1 and 2 - 1st party Nintendo mean QUALITY
Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 - Clover Studios sidescrolling 2.5D sentai beat-em-up nutso supaa fun

Zelda: Twilight Princess - Amazing. Just...just snag it up.
Metroid Prime - Another must-have, and there are a good few extras to be unlocked by hooking up with Metroid Fusion on the GBA. The second game was good the first time through, but I can't put myself through it again like I can with this one.
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door - Quirky and odd, but an addictive RPG.
Luigi's Mansion is fun if you can get it cheap, don't pay more than $10 though
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is an excellent RPG
Ikaruga for awesome shmup goodness, if you don't have it on the DC already. Frothing demand!
Mario Kart: Double Dash is good, but the Wii version will be out soon enough so you might want to wait for that.
Animal Crossing, if you want something slow and relaxing.

Burnout 2 - best arcade racer last gen
Hulk: Ultimate Destruction - you play as the Hulk running around a sandbox city. It's awesome.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (not as good as the others and I'm not sure if you'll like it)
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (best one of the three)
I'd recommend Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess but I suggest getting the Wii version since, last time I checked, both versions cost the same.
Beyond Good & Evil
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (with Bongos or you fail)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
F-Zero GX
Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

Dragon's Dogma: 192 Warrior Linty | 80 Strider Alicia | 32 Mage Terra
Also, how would that even work with the Wii? Didn't you need a broadband adapter for the GC?
I know some people do still play it online with a Gamecube, but I don't believe that can be discussed any further.

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.
I borrowed it from one of my friends and didn't return it for a year, and just recently got the urge to play it again. Can't find it anywhere. Any recommendations, anyone?
edit: and if you never got Skies of Arcadia for the DC, get it here.
My absolute favorites were Fire Emblem, Eternal Darkness, and Rogue Leader. But the Prince of Persia games are also great. That should keep you busy for a while.

If you're going to try PSO, look for Phantasy Star Online: Episode 1 and 2 Plus. It's rare and a little spendy but you may as well get the best version for the GC.
However, you may just want to get PSO: Blue Burst instead for the PC since it's still going and is better then the Gamecube versions. Phantasy Star Universe for the 360, PS2 and PC is an option as well.
Also, yes yes yes to the Pikmin games and Chibi-Robo.
I'm also adding my votes to people who've said SSX3, Beyond Good & Evil, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Ikaruga and Tales of Symphonia. These are the only GC titles I have left from my last-gen purging. You're also definitely better off grabbing the Wii version of RE4, as detailed above by RainbowDespair.
That came out on GC? I got it for PC. If that's true then yes, pick that fucker up. It was truly a diamond in the rough last gen.
Pokemans D/P: 1289 4685 0522
Yep, and (unlike the PC version, for some strange reason) it had multiplayer as well. I loved that game so much. Cool atmosphere, great controls and just plain fun. It was IO interactive at their best, and it is a crying shame that a sequel never materialized.
I thought they turned off the online portions to PSO 1&2? Are there fan servers running now?
Oh, and Ikaruga, if you haven't already got it for another system.
This is just a tribute.
I know PSO GC is down. Blue Burst is still open for Subscribing members until the end of March or April. After that, no official online PSO.

Actually, I completely agree. I only said that because most people tend to think that 2 is in every way superior. I hated being in dark gloomy caves for half the game, and they made things seem less like a real world and more like, well, a video game.
IMO the best way to do a Pikmin game would be to give you 30 days to accomplish a mission, and after that the real game started, and the difficulty of it would be dependent on how efficient you were during the 30-day interval. So you can keep playing long, long after day 30, but that need for efficiency and swiftness is still an important component.

Freedom Fighters I second. Killing Soviets will never get old. Plus the multiplayer was fun. They really need a sequel with co-op, everything is better with co-op. I recommend watching Red Dawn either before, during, or after you play it. WOLVERINES!
SSX 3 I thought was awesome. Doesn't hurt that it looks excellent too.
On a side note I am surprised there isn't a Pikimin: Wii coming out. It almost seems like a perfect fit.
I really hope there's one in the works. I think the Wiimote would make it much easier to control and direct squads of Pikmin.
I'd love a Pikmin DS even more, stylus control would be so awesome, but I don't think the DS could handle that many characters on screen at once.
