My dad is letting me borrow his copy of XP to install on to my computer. I feel kind of stupid asking this question, but here it goes anyway. Is there any sort of problem with using his CD key? This seems like a really stupid question, but I honestly don't know. Thanks

Aye... I don't think it'd work. It may or may not for you, but the act of you installing it with the CD Key would (if it worked) make the CD Key tied to your hardware instead of his... if it's not already tied to his (which I assume it is).

You gotta get your own CD key I think. I hear that you can switch hardware for some set amount of times before it deactivates the key... but I have no idea how many times that is, and indeed if you tried to call MS to get it reactivated and they saw you were using it on two different machines you'd be busted hardcore.
