I have one for the home and one for office warfare. One of the other guys in the office has that buzzsaw thing....loud as FUCK.
He gets it going and comes down the hall hoping that i'm listening to my headphones...I can still here it. Thus as he rounds the corner he gets a dart to the head.
Does anyone have the Starscream blaster? The whistling darts are awesome. Do they have whistling darts that'll fit guns like the Maverick/Longshot?

Okay so when y'all talk about Mavericks jamming you're referring to how on the sides, the darts can pop out slightly and prevent the cylinder from advancing, right?
Because I am pretty sure that can be easily fixed.

I've never had my Mav jam, though I don't use it a whole bunch.

It is. You can bore out the cylinder and such, but that's a level of dedication that I just don't have. Taking it apart and swapping a 15 cent spring or shaving some plastic off is one thing, but at a certain point the punchline becomes the joke.
I'll take a picture of all the Nerf guns that are always in my trunk when i get home. I might go to PAX just for a NERF war/assassination
There have been very explicit instructions by one Mr. Robert Khoo that Nerf guns are not allowed inside at the convention.
thanks for that one, Geek
What?

Man, the Nerf guns were banned before I ever hit Tycho's baby and it wasn't a Nerf gun anyway. It was a nerf-esque blowdart that was brought in by the Guild Wars people.

I guess nerf already made DS cases, so this isn't that unexpected.
But if nerf is making wiimote shells now, they need to make an adapter that uses the unity rail system to mount wiimotes to any nerf gun. And maybe with a wired motorized trigger button you could attach to the gun elsewhere?
Do you know how much they cost at other stores? I know Wal-Mart has the Longshot "Streamline" darts for cheap usually, I need to stock up on those as well. I haven't seen these "Sonic Micro" darts until now, but they'll probably magically crop up now that I know what they look like. If I can't I'll just wait until a "free shipping" deal or something.
And here's some random forum post about the Starscream darts:
You can get extra darts for it from hasbro, they don't list them on their website, you have to call. They come in packs of 6, I think I paid $10 for 12 of them.
I guess I'll be trying that, although I'm more interested in getting them for the Maverick now.
I don't see why they won't, but I hope these work with that earlier mentioned "Double Shot" off-brand shotgun. The velcro tagger darts worked, so here's hoping.

My first maverick may have exploded. I say may, because it probably wasn't mine that exploded.
One time I was cocking it, and some plastic snapped inside, and a metal bar swung halfway out the left side of the slide. It appeared to be the bar that the spring was connected to, and the plastic holding it in snapped. I just bought a new one. Sadly, the new one was yellow.
Then I realized that I had been borrowing two mavericks from a friend, and had just recently returned them (guy bought a ton of nerf stuff when this fad had just started), and my broken one had a large dent in the slide that wasn't on mine; I had never dropped mine, etc. I didn't care enough to bother him about it, though.
I gots me one of those rapid-20-shot Wildfires at a yard sale several years ago for 5 bucks.
It's pretty dang sweet.
I remember like the first time you came over to our apartment, I opened the door and you shot me in the face with it.
Also, yeah, what the hell are you guys on about with this purported Maverick jamming phenomenon?
I've had mine misfire once or twice. You cock it back, pull the trigger, and the dart partially launches into the side of the hole. It's not all THAT common, but happens enough that it is worth just getting the longshot darts for the Mav.
Just something about how the chamber misaligns from time to time.
Two Mavs for twin revolver fun. (Just call me Revolver... Nerfelot!)
One of them new Recon guns. Interchangeable parts and whatnot, looks pretty sweet.
Or a good ol' Longshot?
Or erm... another Nerf gun? Or maybe that off-brand Nerf-esque shotgun?
dual mavs is pretty hard since it's difficult to rotate the chamber without a free hand
Uh, the chamber rotates when you pull the trigger.
Don't you need to cock it before each shot, though?
Yeah, but that's got nothing to do with rotating the cylinder. And if you have big gangly hands, like I do, you can cock it one-handed.
t DrZiplock: I have never had that happen. I thought maybe people meant that thing where if you leave the same darts in the gun for a long time, they don't fit as tight, and so they tend to slide forward out of the chamber and hang up when the cylinder rotates. But our darts don't usually spend enough time in the chamber for that to happen.

Yeah the problem with the maverick is that often times the small metal pin that holds the spring for the cocking mechanism in place comes loose. Really the only way to fix it is to put a small blot through it and attach it to the slide, or just buy a new one.
Sometimes the darts just don't shoot, this happens to me at the worst goddamn times.

I hadn't thought about leaving the darts out while I'm not stalking office prey.
But yea..sometimes the barrel rotation is just slightly off and the dart clips the side and stays in the chamber.
It's happened on both my older Mav (blue and yellow scheme) as well as my fairly newer version.
Much like a gun misfiring at the wrong time it leaves you pretty open to getting shot.

Just use the Longshot darts. Problem solved.

The Maverick, yes. The longshot I am not sure.
Am I too late for this?

whatever baby killer
is this real?
also, needs a photoshop of gun mode.
You can get the Maverick ones at any place that sells nerf guns. No idea where/if they make the Starscream ones.
