The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Nonwithstanding how it happened, my mirror is broken. There is no external damage to the mirror. The plastic that connects it to the car is broken. I can shove it back in, but occasionally (usually on long drives) it falls off and is hanging to the car by its wire (there's a turn signal light on it). The car's reasonably new so I really don't want to resort to situations like gluing it back on yet. My questions:
1. Does anyone know where a place is I might be able to get the mirror cheaper? The dealership quotes the part at $220.
2. Does anyone have any experience with how to install this? Labor is $80 and I can't believe it's THAT difficult to install.
I can't find the side mirror listed in the parts at trdsparks.com, but maybe you could email them and ask.
And as a fellow tC owner, both www.yoursciontc.com and www.clubsciontc.com/ are good places to look for help with the car. Granted, most of the sites are dedicated to tricking out the tC's with ridiculous parts, but you can find a lot of good information about repairs and find good deals on parts. The only modification I've done is to replace the amber interior bulbs with white LEDs which give me more light and burn much cooler. But anyways, I've gotten good results with both of those sites.
I hear PC gaming is huge off the coast of Somalia right now.

Depends if the car/door frame was damaged or just the mirror.
Mine got wacked off by a fast moving garbage can (Ok, so I was the one moving, but still...), and since it hit the door frame too, they had to basically take the door apart to reattach the mirror.
You may just want to make an account and post at one of the two tC forums I posted asking for help. Most of the people there are very friendly and pretty handy with cars. I've got no problem doing maintenance and minor repairs but I've never tried any body work so I wouldn't be much help.
Oh and forgot to mention that I've gotten stuff from TRDsparks and they were pretty good...much better prices than the dealership and quick shipping. I got OEM floormats and the steel door bottom sills from there rather than the dealer.

*EDIT*
A-ha, found them. There's links along the left side to get the right color. $140 ain't cheap, but it's better than $220.
