I am starting to get into the DC Superheroes line now, but I wish they would expand into non-Batman & Superman characters. It would be great to have a Green Arrow or Deathstroke or Captain Marvel.

I am going to be on the look out for a Darkseid & Steel.

I did wonder why he was grinning like an idiot.

Dex Dynamo's sharp eyes have quenched my curiousity.

In all honesty those are some amazing looking figures, I wish I had them around when I was a kid.

Remember the old G.I. Joe's? The eyes on those things were nothing more than little black dots.

Actually, compared to some of the things DC Direct has put out over the years, they aren't bad for a mass market figure. The only problem is that Mattel is limited to Batman and Superman, so you can only get so much.

I saw two different Supermans at Target. I'm guessing one was a variant

    do they make those

    are they rare

Variant? Yes. Rare? Not really. There's also one for Bizzaro (with another shown at Toy Fair), Supergirl, and another for Darkseid that was shown at Toy Fair.

None of the DC Direct stuff seems very poseable/articulated. I know Mattel's stuff isn't insane either, but I like it more.

That batman statue is beautiful, however his upper body reminds me of one of those inflatable muscle suits used in an old SNL skit.

Plus they threw subtlety to the wind when they made the bat tights 2 sizes too small to highlight Bruce's "bat bulge".

$10 says he has "bat socks" stuffed down his shorts.

What do you think happens when someone spends 95% of their free time to condition their body and fight crime. Then the other 5% to bang hot sluts.'

You get a huge body with an even bigger Batawang.

So there is a Spider-man 2099 figure in one of the Spider-man lines. It is pretty nice-looking, aside from the web-cape being held on with big black bands.

Those. . . those are all great figures, I have two of them myself. Gotham by Gaslight and Red Son Batman and both are awesome, and I have seen all the rest.

If you don't think those are good then your definition of good must mean the figures are carved from sacred stone by god himself.

The movie ones? I've got Don, Raph and Casey Jones so far, and they're pretty neat. Nothing special but they look decently slick. Only complaint is Mikey's eyes are really, really fucked up.

I'm thinking about pulling the ol' "white eyes" on all four of them.

I think I might actually grab a little paint and do my first figure mod with Mikey when I get him. Like, the eyes aren't just weird, they pretty much ruin the whole toy.

It'll look so much better. I've gotta try and do it this week (and you think it'd be simple), but I'm busy as fuck.

I'm not liking how impossible they are to keep standing. My Bishop is one of the figures I have to sticky-tack or lean up against something- the only ones worse than him are Sin City's Marv and Hellboy's Kroenen (Nazi uniform). I have come close to murder with some of these dudes.

If they bug out, use an exacto to carve them out.

Then, if you don't have paint, use white-out.

    Otherwise, use paint.

I currently own one comics-based action figure: Gotham by Gaslight Batman. If I never buy another one, I can rest confidently in the knowledge that I own the coolest goddamn Batman figure in the universe.

Although, the other day, I went to DC Direct's site and looked at all their current and upcoming figures and made this absurdly long list of figures I want to buy.

At some point I will most definitely buy the full Batman: Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory, and DKR figure sets. After that, probably the Batman 13" Collector's Edition figure, which takes second place for coolest figure in the universe.

The above doesn't even scratch the surface of the absurdly long list.
