He's just being extra negative on his opinion of NoA's localization efforts regarding Mother 3.
But I do want to have sex with and listen to the music of Mitsuda.

Baiten Kaitos Origins. The very late GCN era prequel to Baiten Kaitos.
Basically, take what was good about BK (the story, the setting, the music) do a complete 180 on the worst part about the game (shitty voice acting replaced by one of the best jobs ever done on a NA release) and streamline the interesting part of the game (the card battle system, one deck for everyone, combos only go up, faster paced) and you have one of the best RPGs from last generation. Criminally overlooked during the protracted death of the GCN, it can now be yours for a steal. Looks fantastic in 480p, plays like a dream.
Well, I'll probably go on GameFAQs and download the inevitable translation of it, but that still demonstrates commitment, right?

The game has a decent shot of coming out over here, being Nintendo produced. We pretty much get everything Nintendo publishes these days, Mother 3 being an obvious exception I threw in just to see people post frowny emoticons in the next few replies.
This is the gospel truth - it's almost criminal that more people haven't played this game...
I have nothing to add other than to reaffirm that Baten Kaitos Origins was indeed a great game and that the lack of attention it got is depressing.
Mwahahahahahaha!
The art is the only aspect of this game that attracted me at all. It doesn't look generic. It looks really vibrant and unique. I mean, how many RPGs a year style themselves after oldschool Tezuka stuff? Most of the major RPGs of the last ten years have that hideous Final Fantasy shojo style to them.
Limed, and fixed.
Nah, I didn't necropost just for that :P. There's been a couple of interesting tidbits of info. on Soma Bringer that have been revealed. Shamelessly stolen from Neogaf:
Here's the original interview from where all this stuff came from with if anyone is interested: http://touch-ds.jp/crv/vol9/001.html
Also revealed from the interview: Soma Bringer is being planned for a series.
Now for some videos:
Credits to duckroll of Neogaf for the writeup, the links, and the traslation of the interview.

Anyway, with regard to Soma Bringer, I applaud Mitsuda for the way he did the soundtrack. The "headphones" option in the menu actually switches between two near-identical soundtracks: one optimized for the DS speakers (read: no crackling like you would get on, for example, Apollo Justice at full volume) and one optimized for headphones (read: awesome).
Probably because it was announced like six months ago and the first trailer, ever, came out a week or two ago. And the game releases in four days.
The combat system in BK was superb and in BK:O they pretty much made it perfect. I've always preferred turn based to action because it's much more strat than mashy, and their card combo timed turns system completely alleviated the problem of TB being too slow/dull.
I will buy any RPG monolithsoft make based on those two games, unless it gets a 1/10 everywhere.
Also, I need to go back to BKO. I played it for hours on end while I was sick and then between the spiked fever and the are-we-dreaming-what-the-the-fuck-are-we-in-the-past flashback stuff it was like going back to a nice park you'd visited for the first time while on acid. Sure it's still pretty, but the trees aren't neon colored and signing and none of the birds are tap dancing. It's just not the same.

Also there has never been such a turn around in video game voice acting ever. From shite to amazing.
Also, apparently Soma Bringer is going to be part of a many part series.
Then again, I am a sucker for gunslingers in RPGs.
At first I was disappointed that they simplified the combat a bit by removing the numbers that let you do the 1-9 combos
But then they introduced combos across all 3 characters and stuff so in the end I think I preferred it, it was much more refined.
It probably will never get localized, as much as I wish it would. I imported it for pretty cheap, and it's fun, but I'd like to know what's going on considering some things in the plot were changed in the DS version.

Wi-Fi and randomly generating dungeons? I am now officially very interested.
