Isolating a Problem From Safe Mode
kaliyamaLeft to find less-moderated foraRegistered Userregular
Hi,
My wired connection, which plugs into the ethernet port on my nforce mobo, for whatever reason, often doesn't work from startup. But if I boot into safe mode w/networking on Vista, i connect with no problem. Can I export a list of processes that run in regular mode, but not safe mode, and try disabling them one-by-one?

This is a utiltity that's been around since windows 98 that lets you tinker with all the things that launch at startup.
You can just go to the "services" tab and pick and choose which ones you want to allow on boot.
Be aware, play with those at your own risk.
