    That doesn't really strike me as a theme song, though. It seems more like a menu or map song, if you weigh it against past games.

    If you follow the link trail of that first link it turns out to not be from FFXIII at all, but of the anime GetBackers.
    It's a nice song though.

    Yeah, I downloaded from the OP and was curious what people were making a big deal about. I was quite surprised when it started and I realized I knew this song. I'm pretty sure I have the GetBackers OSTs lying around somewhere. However, while that Akayuki site says the song is actually from GetBackers, he still attributes the song to Yoko Shimomura. However, I'm pretty sure the song is by Taku Iwasaki, as he did the music for The GetBackers, and I can't find any mention of Shimomura in relation to the show.

    Iwasaki's stuff is nice. He's done music for things like The GetBackers, Read Or Die, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

    To bring the hopes back up, a bit of news at RPGfan says a forthcoming 'best of' Yoko Shinomura album's going to have a track from Versus XIII.
