So, I have a Macbook (NOT PRO) and I want to remove the current internal hard drive, and upgrade it to a larger one (much larger).
Number one, what kind of hard drive do I need for this guy? Size, RPM, connectivity....
Third, what's the easiest way to get my current data on to the new new hard drive? I Have a bunch of external enclosures (for laptop drives) - I was thinking
1) get the new drive
2) Put it in an enclosure
3) format and partition
4) Image my current drive (so it gets everything)
5) load that image onto the new drive (enternally connected)
What I would do is put the new drive you bought into the enclosure first, copy everything over to it with a program like Super Duper, and then switch the drives. That is the easiest way I can think of...
