Just out of interest, how much internet usage does counter strike eat up? I'm fairly certain it only takes a couple of kb, but my friend is paranoid about it. Thanks, guys.

    Type "net_stat 3" in the console. It will print your current up and down-stream bandwidth usage in the corner of the screen. HL1-based games rarely went over 6KB/sec in average-sized games, and I don't think Source-based games go much over that unless there's a lot of stuff going on.

    Remember that HL1 was playable on a 56k...

    Yeah, it's not the bandwidth so much as the latency that kills you in CS and whatnot.
