Are the stats in other MMOs this complicated? Shadowbane didn't seem that way, but the extreme gankage off of newbie island prevented me from getting past there.
Vanguard (I know, lol) had some pretty complex stats, but it was pretty easy to figure out since everything was based off either the basic stats (strength/constitution/intelligence/etc.) or direct +bonuses from gear. It also didn't have PvP, which made it sort of pointless. There wasn't an arms race in stats.
EQ2 is a little more complicated than WoW in terms of stat stuff, because just about everything has an associated skill, and raising taht skill ahs different effects (raising Disruption decreases the chance your nukes will get resisted, raising Ministration decreases the mana cost of heals). They eliminated a lot of the useless skills way back when (every class had a unique "Skill" for combat arts/spells that automatically leveled with your class and couldn't otherwise be increased, which was just redundant), but there's still a boatload. And with the way Achievement Points and Adornments work you can fine-tune your character to an absurd degree, although there are still "maximum PvE DPS" builds for certain classes and such. I really like how equipment and stats work in EQ2, but that might just be because I played one of the most ridiculously overpowered classes to ever exist in any MMO, ever.
When do you dudes raid, jaef and fodder? I'm without a 25 man commitment at this point, and I loooove the vashj fight.
Yeah, I was raiding with Muffin Kings M/T/W 5:30-9:30 PST on Dark Iron. Right now though I'm dicking around as Horde on Spinebreaker. Me and a friend are level 45 and climbing.
turns out I still love my guild but hate 25 man raiding

That was incredibly frustrating, because we were doing really well and basically everything but the striders was falling into place and it was looking really likely we might have been able to pull off a kill, and then the mage who was kiting the striders was all "olol later guys!"
Eh, he always has to go early, same way the other mage "turns into a pumpkin".
Don't worry though; after the raid last night I came up with a TERRIBLY DEVIOUS PLAN that will almost certainly work. It involves the prot warrior DPSing and the raid forming a rectangle.
Note: this is a serious idea. I think it will work.
I had a pretty strange dream this morning. It was about a hit crime show set in the Wetlands called CSI: Crime Scene InvestiGators. The crocolisks in that area wore suits and worked for the government on various cases of murder and suicide. The Dark Irons were at first a rather important threat, but it was revealed that they were a relatively small time conglomeration of thugs working for the Black Flight.
I... have no idea what else to say.
You think THAT'S weird? I had a dream where Superman, the Sentry, and Nathan Explosion were all fighting.
Yeah.
Alright who else is on that new Cairne server, I just made Jyodi the human mage.

People are saying that from datamined info it seems to look like the flametongue debuff reduces the healing done by that target, rather than a ms effect.

Interesting.
So if a Shaman hits me with flametongue inbetween his earthshock spam and my target is mortal striked im only healing for 25% of normal for every other heal? Sounds remarkably shitty.

Hmm. That's not what the notes say:
# Flametongue Weapon damage effects for rank 3 and above now also reduce healing done to the target by 50% and lasts 5 seconds.
# Flametongue Totem damage effects now also reduce healing done to the target by 50% and lasts 5 seconds.

It specifically states "to the target".
Hey, cool, so shammies can give the MS debuff to everyone, lucky them. Rogues, pallies, melee priests...

Like really serious.
I remain convinced the best strategy is to kite vashj back to the entrance, and then turn it into a dps race to burn her down the last 70% before she gets to the center of the platform.

Yeah I sort of doubt that. Shaman + Warrior combos would be far too OP for that.
Why would the Kara attunement be removed? It's not exactly difficult. "Oh no! I have to partially run 3 normal 5-mans and one 30 minute 5-man! I'll never get to do Kara!" Two of them you don't even have to fight a single boss....

well, technically, you have to full clear one. Still... point stands. It's just kind of a lame attunement that should have been dropped a long time ago. Who really cares?

I find it funny that "old world content" (MC, Onyxia, BWL, Naxx) now require more effort to enter than current content.

It's not that hard, unless your realm finds building pugs (even with daily quests) to be utterly impossible.
Though spec'ing as a healer or tank (on applicable characters) means half the classes in the game should have a pretty easy time finding groups, if just for a handful of instances.

Hah. And I was going to do the attunement after a few more upgrades.
Alright who else is on that new Cairne server, I just made Jyodi the human mage.
I made a character named English. I have a fascination with that name, lately. I looked for Gil, but no joy. I'll keep an eye out for Jyodi too. I'm in some random guild, but you can never tell how those will pan out.
unless you're still in level 50 greens, you don't really need upgrades to get attuned. these are the easiest dungeons known to man we're talking about there

But they're instances you're probably going to do anyways. I don't know, I just think there should be SOME effort put into getting to raid. The SSC and TK attunements are already gone, and they're getting rid of the BT/MH attunements, right? Ok fine, but doing full clears of two regular instances and parts of two others is too tough for some people? If they can't accomplish that, they shouldn't be raiding. At all.
But it would also be nice if attunements counted for your whole account, so you don't have to get every alt attuned. Wasn't this brought up recently as a possibility by someone at Blizzard?
If anything, they should get rid of the stupid attunement for Old Hillsbrad. Is following that stupid NPC really necessary? Not to mention, if someone decides to gank you while following them around, you have to sit around for 10 minutes before you can start it again.

It has been, and they're apparently looking at account and guild attunements for WOTLK.

I think it's approximately 6 minutes long (without gankage), which means that... I've spent an hour of my life following those bitches around, and you can't even /follow npcs! (one of many things I miss about CoH, you can /follow ANYTHING)

I honestly think Blizzard just wants everybody everywhere to raid. I don't really think it's a question of "but these people will never get a chance to see content!!!!"; it's that people want to hit 70 and have the entire game handed to them on a platter without having to make the slightest effort. And Blizzard wants to give that to them.
I wonder if they'll be nerfing Kara to accommodate the people that couldn't complete normal Shadow Labs.
Well, through arena gear, bg gear and badge rewards, people can enter with nigh-full T5 equivelent (for pve content) gear merely through hitting daily heroics and failing their way to victory in pvp, so in that regard they've been "nerfing" it for a whole year now.

Eh, BM and SL were kinda annoying in a "we all just hit 70 and still have some greens and these places haven't been nerfed yet" capacity. Now it's just "damnit, I'm being begged to drag my ass out to Tanaris so scrub #235264 can go to Kara".
I agree with whomever said that the worst part of the whole thing was following the NPC around before you could do Durnholde.
On another note, I think I am going to turn my Bear into an alchemist. She's already an herbalist, and skinning, while extra money, is not as worthwhile as having poootioooons and happy rocks.

Can we at least get a catchy title? "Lackey of the Violet Eye" or something?
Edit: Hrmm.
This makes me sad.
What a load of bullshit. Apart from that badge for druid tanks the reward aren't even that good.
Hmm. That's not what the notes say:

We could make it "The title 90% of the silly gits in the game have earned?".

Sweet, not that its difficult but that's one less thing I need to do.
I'd go ahead and do it, unless you want to wait a few months to start doing kara.
You might as well do it while getting upgrades. It's not very hard and you can get some nice blues while doing it.
