Latest piece and quote, it's Goldeneye. The magazine hyped a story about the Goldeneye remake and its troubles, not the release of the game.
In the next issue of Xbox World 360 (caps lock alert: ONSALE NEXT WEDNESDAY - THAT'S THE 27TH FEBRUARY!) you'll find shots and hands-on details on one of the biggest (and most confusing) gaming stories of the year. Read on for more...
Maybe you think you already have all the answers - but have you seen this shot somewhere else? Or do you know what the Right Bumper does? What's become of the Jungle? And what about the multiplayer maps? Tune in on Wednesday to see the whole thing explode. There'll be no satisfying conclusion... but maybe, together, we can take down the whole system. Or, er, change a few minds.
(Oh yeah - and tomorrow? The whole picture.)
So the chaps at Xbox World 360 claim to have a 'massive exclusive' on their hands and they're teasing us with pieces of a screenshot. Clever.

A massive world exclusive lands in the next issue of Xbox World 360.
And you can glimpse it here - first. Yep, over the next two weeks, until our spanking new issue goes on-sale, we're going to play an oh-so-cryptic game of name the, er, game. Read on for more...
Here's how it works: every day we'll show you a new section of a dazzling screenshot from this MEGA-EXCLUSIVE Xbox 360 game, tempting and teasing you while at the same time reminding you (probably pretty frequently) that the next issue of Xbox World 360 is the only place to find it. Reckon you know what it is? Want to hazard a guess? Get over to our forum and discuss it NOW.
Additionally, they said this last month in the magazine:
Let's just say, it's a biggie, a re-invention of a classic.
And then this on their podcast:
There's been a lot of buzz about this game but no one has got the facts...until now.
Yep, it's the story the whole world wanted, but only we got - and we unleash it next Wednesday in Xbox World 360. Will you be excited? Oh yes. Will you, like us, be just a little bit angry too? Mmmm, maybe. Want to know more? The mystery unfolds - in shops - in seven days time.
First, the pieces (so far):

Nothing too special like that. Now to construct the argument for Goldeneye. First, the quotes alone get the Goldeneye juices flowing - re-invention of a classic, lots of buzz around the title, mega-awesome-tastic exclusive, etc. Many Goldeneye rumors of late but the facts regarding Rare, Nintendo, who-holds-what have been murky. Are these the facts they allude to in the podcast?
Back to the screenshots. We can put them together to get this:

Is this scene starting to look familiar? Maybe that handrail! Well how 'bout these old screenshots:

Hey!
Just maybe!
Oh boy.

So what is it? We've heard the rumors of late pick up, these guys are hyping it up and toying with us. Is Goldeneye finally back? Or is this gonna be another major letdown? Other rumors have said there is no graphical update (which these screenshots indicate there is) and Nintendo's Iwata has said he'd never be down with letting Goldeneye go. I fear legs will be pulled and hopes crushed but in the meantime let's build them up.

EDIT: Three days later now and certain evidence has me with just a few toes shy of my whole foot in my mouth. This was the Goldeneye remake but it appears that it is no more. The way they are advertising it is pretty shady in my opinion.
I want my laptop guns and double-fisted Cyclones on Xbox Live, damn it.

Hey, Daniel Craig was pretty damn badass in Casino Royale. I mean, the dude blew up an embassy.
But Goldeneye... meh. It was awesome at the time... but I don't know if I'd go back to it.
Stacks was good but Facility was better.
THIS!
...the only thing I can say is that it's gonna be weird not to see where everyone is.
Now if they made a Casino Royale game that was somehow as awesome as Goldeneye was at the time...
That said, I'm cautiously optimistic here. I think they would have to add more than just better graphics for me to pick this up.
Apparently it means "there's a good chance that Nintendo will get it at the same time".
and already said but: would it really matter if it was? 90% of Goldeneye's goodness was the right thing at the right time. There's very little about the license that made it good. A Bond game has no more chance of being anything special than a Mission Impossible game, or some other movie property.
P.S. Your thread title is super fucking lame. LAME ON
Boo. BOO!

Oh god the mess we used to make playing Proxies.
Outside of plasma sticking in Halo I have NEVER found anything more satisfying than sticking a proxy mine to someones face in Goldeneye
I think this was only possible in Perfect Dark
Day one, though, if it is.
But only if it has multiplayer.
And proximity mines.
I dunno. I totally liked playing as James Bond. Using Bond tech. Fighting Bond villains. Killing Alan Cumming. Playing as Baron Samedi in multiplayer.
Actually, I think everything about the license helped make that game good.
Best console FPS known to man.
What colour do I use for "poster speaks ultimate truth"?
GoldenEye remains the benchmark against which all shooters must justify themselves.
Anyway... One of these threads pops up every few months, and it never happens. So I'm not holding my breath.
Anyone who would dare to remake GoldenEye without multiplayer does not deserve to live.
Unless they split it into two separate games so that they can separate more people from their $$$. I'ma make a perfect corporate dude someday.
That would be worthy of a mouth-shooting.
Did you have people to play it with? If you were a small child when it came out I'd accept that as well.
Didn't Quake II come out like four months after Goldeneye? That would also be a suitable excuse.
Please forward me your address so that I can come to your house and kick you in the balls*. Thanks in advance.
Think it was Q3. I remember when my buddies were drooling over Goldeneye I was doing lots of lan parties with Q3. That is why I have never played it.
So... what's there to be angry about? I think I see a gun there.
what a cocktease
I have no good exscuse then other than I really didn't dig on my N64 that much. I am a bad person.

Well you saved me from making a imageshack account.
Edit, you should really remove the border of the window you posted. You know what I'm talking about.
A remake, while certainly fun, doesn't seem worth this kind of hype/suspense.
