How does recording a match work exactly? Do I have to specify beforehand that I want to record, or is it like Halo where it automatically records the most recent match? Also, isn't there like a 2minute limit to recording?
I think that if the match is under 3 minutes, it asks if you want to save the recording. It doesn't actually record a video, just the sequence of button-pushes that everyone did and when they did them, and then when you replay it, computers copy all of your moves. At least, that's the way I think it works.

After a match that can be saved finishes, it will give you the option of pressing z to save a replay on the results screen.

I think you got trophies for each of them when you got them, maybe you're thinking of that?
Bonsly does 30 damage, and you can attack people who are being eaten by Gulpin. Latios and Latios both attack from one Pokeball (they alternate), and it seems that the game actually knows if you get a dobuel Latios/Latias at the same time (instead of alternating, they just attack at the same time until one Pokeball wears off).

Anybody who knows (importers), say a friend and I were to start co-oping Subspace Emissary when Brawl comes out on one Wii. Is it possible to transfer progress / unlocks on the Wiimote or something so my friend can take it back to his Wii and we continue over WiFi later without skipping a beat?

Latios and Latios both attack from one Pokeball (they alternate), and it seems that the game actually knows if you get a dobuel Latios/Latias at the same time (instead of alternating, they just attack at the same time until one Pokeball wears off).

I believe that guy gets it from the guy who posts on NeoGaf. The press release that came out late this evening is filled with many factual errors about SSB, and is just worded weirdly.

They had to be unlocked; Mew by getting all the playable characters and Celebi by getting all the stages. Or something very similar to that.
Once you unlocked them though, it was simply a 1 in 251 chance.
Manaphy does something very cool and worthy of being a rarity.

Through the Wii Remote, I think. Similar to transferring Miis the same way.

As far as I know, no - you can't copy the save data to an sd card, like with a few other wii games.
You can only do that with profiles.
