Season 2 is supposed to be 13 episodes and it's been picked up for a third.
I got caught up on this show this week while I was working on some artwork. Really fantastic. Although, part of me is thinking that 3 seasons would be about enough to go out strong and not run the premise into the ground.

you shut your damn face
it can go on past 3
i think they said they've got stuff for 5-ish, although likely no more, due to the cancer

I don't know, with the amount that Walt's life continues to fall apart with each passing episode I think it would be seriously implausible for this to continue longer than 3 seasons. His family is a mess and the police already have a number of solid leads pointing towards him(materials stolen from his chem lab, talented chemist without street smarts pulling the heist, the second cell phone, etc). How long can he really keep it up?

Uh, 5-ish.
You know, going by what the creator and writers said.
I'd be happy if they can pull it off but at this point, it looks like if he doesn't tell Skyler something brilliant to get her off his back, she's either going to find out or leave him and like Zek said, the police have some fairly major leads right now too.
Skyler seems to be the biggest flaw in Walt's plan. Even if he's able to raise the 700k or whatever he was shooting for, she seems like the kind of person who would refuse it unless he has some other story to explain where it came from.

Tonight's episode was so sweet. God I love this show.
Though the severe social problems with everyone is starting to get to me after that Hank elevator scene. He was supposed to be my one solid rock in the show.

Not only that, but
Skylar's decision to smoke. With all the shit Walt is pulling, he's doing it with the mindset that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The worst revelation would be the baby dying before Walt does.

okay i have a theory
you know that stuffed animal we see in the pool in episode one? and then in episode, what, three they show more of that scene and also bags of evidence including walt's glasses. i think that skylar is going to leave him and take hank jr. this opens up walt's house as a place to start cooking.
also: i think that tucco's family who was going to pick him up is going to come into play later with jesse's little druglord scheme.
of course this is all speculation

With the latest ep, we've now opened up a lot of avenues. Hank's moving up, Walt/Jesse are moving up - this can cause a lot of complications, and also a lot of side plots. Making Jesse "handle it" is forcing him to get back out on the street, which is what he was trying to avoid by bringing in his dealers.
Clearly the trailer for next episode suggests he's going to do something about it himself this time - but he may be hiring muscle in the future.
I have to say, I adore Hank. He has gone from one of my least favorites to my favorite in the second season. The scenes at the barbecue set up some serious tension between Walt and Hank, and gave a pretty sharp look at how he really feels about killing Tuco.
Jesse is by no means the purest human being in the show but he certainly is a better person than Walt at this point. Walt's justifications for his actions vanished the moment he turned down charity out of pride and chose to continue cooking meth instead. Gretchen even said that the money was practically his by right, and he turns it down because they ripped him off? Yeah, okay.

I don't know, that tiny ginger kid might have him beat
and the friendly black mailwoman

what if the friendly black mailwoman cooks meth with the hot chick?
depends on whether or not they let the ginger kid watch
