anyone else notice the subtle mannerisms he's given Walt? Like the way he does that hand wave thing (you can see a good example of it in Gray Matter when he's imitating his old professor talking about bunsen burners) whenever he's dismissing something.
or like how he hunches over when he's lying or generally being a bad person
“I'm so grateful. It's like having a great meal to do the show, and then to be awarded an Emmy is a beautiful flambé dessert, and then last year was another dessert on top of that. I feel gluttonous. And it's more than I can take in. It really is. I feel like I'm going to become a diabetic. So it's actually a reprieve that I can relax next year and let things go. It really is.”

im pretty excited that both Bryan and Aaron one, this will help in my crusade to make more people watch this show
also Jesse did it dudes, wasn't there already an article posted with the director's interviewing making that confirmation?
people who think he didn't do it confuse me. Have they even watched the show? the writers wouldn't pull some happy everybody wins bullshit when they can instead make you feel like you died a little inside
And anyway I wouldn't really call someone that's professionally cooking drugs "innocent".
He's partly responsible for enabling Gus and his lackeys but as far as we know he's not a bad guy like Walt, it's probably always been nothing more than a job for him. I think he's just way too naive and idealistic to see the harm that it causes.

jesse is probably the most innocent character in the show
he tried being a bad guy, walt showed him up though
yes that's the thing
jesse tries to act tough but he's not. he's not some hardened thug; he just does illegal things.
when walt forces him to take a life, something he straight up tells walt he cannot do, his innocence is fully shattered. walt treats jesse like a tool; something to be used. he doesn't treat him like a person who should not be killing people. walt has no qualms about killing those in his way. and I'll be damned if killing gail doesn't have extreme consequences for jesse's character.
jesse mightn't be a hardened thug, but he's extremely juvenile in a lot of ways and needs to understand exactly what it is he's doing. what's worse - being ruthless in a ruthless world, or acting like a child in it?
edit: i don't have an answer to that, but i think it's one of the series' big questions. with walt and jesse it's also about how you act differently when you still have some romantic hope of riches, love, integrity or whatever vs. the things you do when all hope is lost, and you're just trying to keep your head above water
maaan this is my favorite show on TV, and I JUST found out "Half-Measure" wasn't the season finale. It was an incredible episode and absolutely perfect for a season finale, so I just figured it was. And now I've got no means of watching "Full Measure," the actual season finale.
mad men's 'next time on' things are the funniest because it's literally just random snippets of dialogue that it is 100% impossible to parse the meaning of

I would have preferred Breaking Bad win the Emmy for Best Drama as opposed to Mad Men. At least I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the winning show.
So I bought the first season of this on DVD like a month ago because it was on sale dirt-cheap
I said I wasn't going to start watching it until I finished The Wire, but I can't actually pick season four of that up until my next paycheck, so I got a little antsy today and sat down and watched the entire first season of this instead
I have to ask though, is it kind of a pain to watch this as it broadcasts? I imagine some of the obscenities are censored, and the pilot episode at least had nudity that I find hard to believe would be shown on broadcast television.
I've watched the television broadcasts as well as the DVD versions. Graphic scenes were left untouched. The nudity in the pilot was blurred. The only other nudity I can recall (Walt's ass) has been uncensored. As far as I can recall, only instances of the word 'fuck' were censored, and the only time it being uncensored genuinely improved the scene was in season 2.
Because we don't really have a dedicated TV thread, I'ma say this here:
People talk a lot of shit about Friday Night Lights' second season, but it's still pretty goddamn great. A weak season of an amazing show is still exceptional, in the big scheme of things.

at first glance i thought you were talking about the current season and couldn't understand referring to it as weak
but yeah the second season definitely has its moments. saracen's meltdown with coach in particular is one of the finest scenes of the show.
because it doesn't have a defined explanation of what it's about? i see advertisements for it all the tiiiiiime and i guess it must be about some dudes that ride motorcycles? is this......is this close?

it shouldn't be used except if you're talking about walts little girl

did you watch half measure on amc?
because if you did they say multiple times after the episode to stay tuned for scenes from the season finale
In summary, I'm not a very smart person.
the edits for the next episode teasers, if anything, mislead you into thinking something else is going to happen.
you got no one to blame but yourself.

I'm bummed that the third season does not even have a release date yet
I was really surprised to say the least
I was afraid it would be another Mad Men situation, where it's good but criminally overrated and slow-paced
Not the case at all
(season 2 spoilers)
Best line of season 2?:
